You may have seen some reoccuring themes in the showcase forum lately. See, I'm putting together a poetry/music CD called "Electric Bagpipes" under the Zentatsu Production umbrella. I'm looking for anyone who can contribute an image, piece of art, or something that could possibly be included in the CD jacket/booklet.

Black and reds are your only means of coloring, and hard edges and gritty feeling is what I'm going for.

While the CD title is somewhat funny, I'm going for some noir with it, so don't get caught up in the "haha, electric bagpipes!" title.

Here's a little inspiration:

I appreciate any attempts at all, so don't feel pressured!

Where is the humor in electric bagpipes?

I find the idea of a bass flute more funny.

Noir you say?

Hah! Love it! Can you do more? Could I possibly get ahold of root files and just the background?

The background looks pretty simple: a noise filter, a motion blur, a red coloration, and a gradient.

-K-I-S-S, that's how good images come together.

Yeah I can do more. What sort of picture would you like?
EDIT: bearded_jarl is right. All you need to do to make rain is: Make a new layer, color it black, then add noise. Set the noise to 17.95. Once you've done that, add a motion blur. Set the distance to 16 pixels. (I suppose it depends on the size of the picture) After you've set the motion blur, go to the layers tab in the bottom right hand side of the screen and select screen from the menu that's just above the layers themselves. Now you should select the burn tool and get a big blurry brush. And darken certain parts of the rain until it looks about right. By now you should have some pleasing rain.

Oops I seem to have gone and made a tutorial. Oh, well.
