a bi-weekly LAN gaming facility that i often attend called Coliseum Gaming Center was wanting a website. a guy that half way runs it made a site. i decided to get on him about it and tell him i would help. so first of all i took this
picture and tiled some parts to make it longer. so the original website designer used my image for his version of the site.

i messed with html and websites before but it has been a long time since i've really started from scratch. i make all of my sites by typing them out, no programs. so after a while of messing around and learning how rough it is for a beginner to make a site look the same in Firefox and Internet Explorer, i finally came up with this.

please take a look at it and tell me what you think. only the first 3 links are finished right now. also, the top banner is not my work.

I like the layout, hate the banner at the top.

Pretty freakin' cool, except for the banner, yeah.

its cool, i think you should try and do something else than just black background.

Maybe some graphics for the left bar links rather than text. and on the news verdana font.. i find it easier to read.

Pretty cool with the arches surrounding text.

Change that banner! It's large, ugly, and screams "I'M A N00B AT PHOTOSHOP!"

I also hate the banner on top... actually, the right half is fine... it's just the left side I hate.... It's the boring font and the grey texture beneath it. Which is ok becasue it appears you have to remake it anyway.... seeing as how you spelled "Colosseum" wrong.

Everything else is great.

don't ever use Arial, Helvetica or Times New Roman on websites

i didn't make the top banner and i can't change it, i'm not in charge...
they decided to go with my design so i re-made the background image.

all the links on the menu are going to be images, we're thinking maybe scrolls with brown text. i'm also maybe thinking of making it one long scroll with the menu links all on the same scroll.


also, the "Photos" layout is not at all finished. it's still using the original layout.
i'm thinking of making a seperate menu for photos. it will be a rectangular vertical menu center aligned at the top. then beneath it will be the photo album.

oh, and i didn't not spell coliseum that way. the makers of the lan center did. i looked it up on dictionary.com and it has both spellings for the same definition. so yeah!
