Seeing Shred's conc model and playing some dark forces gave me a pang of nostalgia, decided to remake my own version of the conc rifle. The back is almost entirely made up since I couldn't find a reference any bigger than 100x200 pixels and I added some things to make it look a little more balanced.

It's a good looking model. I had to read the description to find out if it was the conc, though.

It seems more like an assault rifle of some sort.

Yeah, I guess it is pretty different looking. I ad libbed a lot of stuff because I couldn't find good references; it ended up more being my brainchild than an accurate reproduction of the original conc, but what can you do.

Naa, I knew it was a conc right away. Plus, I dig it. My only major gripe is your lower handle. It's just that I don't think there's supposed to be a handle there at all. I think it was meant to have a traditional rifle stock, and those cylindars under the gun were meant to be the power cells. They can easily unlock and reload.

Change the side grip so its less round and change the bottomgrip so it is more like the conc in JK and Halucid's drawing. Then it would be the awesomest conc ever. Now it's just good.

I like it, everything exepct the handle (or whatever it is) sticking off the bottom.
I think I don't like it because it's so much like the side handle.
If it's not a handle I might look better to be shorter and fatter,
if it is a handle it might do better to look like a more traditional hand grip like on a pistol or something similar.

either way, it does look very nice.

You know, I almost sort of missed doing this stuff.

I'm going to make some changes to it and post them soon, mainly that I forgot there was supposed to be some kind of ammo cartridge. Also, I've got some new ideas for the stock to make it look a little less bland.

The one thing I don't get is, is Kyle supposed to be left handed? As a righty, if I were to imagine holding a rifle like that, I'd want the horizontal handle sticking out on the right side, because I'd want to cradle the bottom of the gun with my left hand. In DF though the handle is on the left side of the gun, and holding it that way would be really weird if you're right handed. Oh well, just thinking, I'll put up new screens in a bit.

It wouldn't be wierd if you held it under-handed; that is, the handle resting in your palm, thumb pointed left. This would neccesitate the right hand being underneath somewhere.

A thousand times more accurate than someone else's rendition. I still think it could use a little angle to the upper handle, and I still think that the trigger should be on the body as a treditional rifle is, considering it IS a "rifle."

I respect Shred's work and stand behind him in whatever choices he makes about his models, regardless of your opinions of them. I prefer this over Shred's, but merely because it's closer to the DF one which I prefer. They are both excellent models.

Maybe you guys could even consider collabing on Shred's thing if Shred starts running out of steam.

The barrel part and stock are very cool. The side grip owns, too. I just don't like the power cells yet. Maybe shift them a bit to the stock end and tilt them a little forward. Would increase the aggressive look, IMO.
