Ladies, gentlemen, children under the age of 13 (or act like it), it is with great pleasure that I present to you my most important showcase since I came to massassi. Yes, I will showcase images, yes they will be pretty, but the images are not what makes this thread important. What makes this thread important is that it symbolizes the beginning of a glorious project, something to which I intend to devote myself whole-heartedly. My friends, I am restarting Lotus.
Now I know many of you are asking just why the hell anyone, especially me, especially now, would do this. The reason I have in mind is simple: in my entire time at Massassi I have yet to complete a single project. I have started many, done minimal work for some, but have completed none. Before I outgrow this community and move on with my life, I want to leave something behind; I want to leave my mark on this community, and Lotus is my way of doing that. By creating a revolutionary total conversion the likes of which the JK community has never seen, I can be forever remembered even after I have left.
The idea behind Lotus was simple: create an experience like that of an MMORPG for single player in the JK engine. Huge areas to explore, tons of melee weapons, people to interact with and fight. At the time I was unwilling to do my part and had no one else to work with. All that, however, has changed. For starters, our very own Blood Asp has agreed to do all the level work for the project, the biggest challenge that faced the project the first time around. In addition I have drawn the designs for over 50 new weapon models, as well as 20 new player and character models and 35 monsters, each of which will have their own new animations. This truly will be a revolutionary undertaking.
Now, naturally, this is a showcase thread and as such I should show some sort of eye candy. Since the bulk of the work is only in the planning stage (I've asked Blood Asp to post some of his work and he will soon be doing so) I'd rather not show it, but I have prepared a sample of the quality you can all expect from my work. When I first introduced Lotus I presented this weapon as one that would be ingame:
In the spirit of rebirth I have redesigned this weapon:
I promise that each model I produce for Lotus will be of this same level of quality and detail. I will work hard to make this project the best I can and I assure you all, it will be a Jedi Knight experience like no other.
Thank you for your time.
