I've been debating on if I should show this site or not... but I decided why not.. it needs the exposure.

http://www.GasStudios.com

it's my personal website that I upload animation and or screens of models I've done, I'm not a big modeler, so don't expect too many models up, I'm trying to get more into the animation aspect of the career path I've taken.

I'll be uploading a copy of my demo reel when it's finished (Batteries not Included [working title]) as well as my run, walk and action cycles, I'll also be working on an animation for a second demo reel once I get this one done, which will have two characters in it.

over all, nothing that impressive right now, I suck a textures and like I said, I'm not the greatest at modeling, but I will be updateing it more.

Everything on that site was created by me, images, video's and text unless otherwise stated, most textures were taken from various places online that will be in the final credits of them.

but over all, I want an opinion on the sites layout and design, it's not WC3 or what ever comliant yet, but I think it renders properly in both firefox and IE, I don't know about other browsers.

It looks good, I like the layout. it's simple and easy to navigate.
Not sure about the dashed & dotted lines they seem alittle akward.
I think you should add space on either side of the text. having it come to the very edge makes it feel crowded and uncomfortable and makes me not want to read it.

Also, I'd be curious to see what it looks like with those little gas cans pointing to the right rather than the left.
I think it would seperate them a bit from top banner.
and this is just a random thought, maby see how it looks with the gas cans cut off about halfway and lowered to look like their going behind the box that is beneth them.
does that make sense?
anyway, just a thought.

The tiny cans were one thing I was worried about, if they are just too much and distract from everything else seeing a gas can everywhere.

It grows on you, but I might tinker with the idea and change a few images.

I also agree with your point on the text, I'll work on that... should be easy to fix.

If W3C compliance is something you're planning to do, why write it non-compliant in the first place?

If you're setting out to not worry about W3C compliance, that's one thing, but saying "not compliant yet" seems a bit stupid.

well, I did it in the first places just so I could have the basic idea and layout and everything I wanted, I'm still learning about how to make it compliant and everything, I'm pretty sure I learned on outdated html code and thus I need to learn the new stuff to make it compliant.

Just thought I'd say that it renders fine in Opera as well. That makes me content.
