Nice.
Perhaps you should put the links in the footer in an unordered list, to help accesability.

The logo at the top (especially the right portion) annoys me greatly.

I'm another guy who thought Counter-strike: Source.

Then again, I do play a lot of CS:S cuz it's awesome.

I do like it, but the design is too busy. The title of the page is too small and the font is waytoo hard to read, especially sideways.

I think you can extend the main content section can be made a bit longer too.

Oooh, cool, thanks for replies. Anyways, TBH I think it looks like crap. But nothing a month or two of obsessive practice can't solve. Because what some people do with CSS is simply bloody amazing.

You need to avoid thinking about it in terms of CSS, just assume that pretty much any design can be done with it.

Then think about design in terms of design, that's how people come up with awesome CSS-based designs. The CSS part is frankly child's play.

Exactly. Don't design around CSS, let CSS create your design.

Draw up exactly what you think a site should look like (Use photoshop if you must), then create the site using the CSS you've learned.

This is part of the reason i'm getting so annoyed by the current batch of webdesign books, they focus far too much on the technology and tricks and not enough on what makes a design great.

I have all of the well-publicised design books and the only one I keep coming back to for help with design is the Zen of CSS Design.

I've never used a CSS book myself. I use regular design books to help me make decent sites (along with my usability class, which was insanely hard work, but good knowledge). If I ever need to know anything with CSS, I find w3schools to answer it for me. <3 that place.

dammit i thought this was counter strike

Like Matty said w3.org & w3schools are great places.
firefox has great webdev tools too.

Also just digging around the net finding neat stuff like THIS.

CSS can make your dreams come true.
Too bad all we're doing in my web programing class right now is javascript which makes my head hurt.

That's the ideal, yes, and I agree completely. But I still know next to nothing about the actual tools (in this case: CSS). Leo Tolstoy wouldn't have gotten far with "War & Peace" if he'd be holding his pen upside down.

Thanks for the comments. All links to CSS-related materials and tuts greatly appreciated. What I have so far:
