Just last night I was looking through my JED project directory and discovered a folder called 'Escape' I scrated by head and thought "eh I thought I deleted this" and opened it up and looked at the file and was suprised to find that the JKL file for this was dated back to September 2003. I loaded it into JED and trimmed the rough edges of the level (setting up Start-up COG, flagged all floors and textured the dflt.mat parts of the level and gobbed it up. I was amazed to find that it worked well.

Funny how an old project can be good

start working on it again, and use t3h new textures.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

I have to agree about texturing, but I had intended to use temple based textures, but the generic 00 temple textures were not used. Instead I used the 20val colormap ones, but it is the reddy color thats offputting. Perhaps I might follow your advice on that. Of course thats if I tend to do more work on this as Im starting a new project. But I'll try to alter the textures to make it intresting.

Obvious statement: It is very red.

It seems you have a good handle on architecture. But it's goodness is covered up by the texturing very badly. :( I think the texture and the arch. need to go hand in hand.

Thanks for all the comments and personally I can use the advice usefully and now when I go for architecture I will use different textures. There is nothing wrong using any textures but my general problem is that I don't experiment with textures and maybe more variety is needed. This project was abadoned long ago and perhaps I will not do anymore work on it. :)

Hey there Gondaggle, if you're still interested in JK editing, and would like some help from people who are still quite active in it, just go over to the JK Editing HUB, and you can get all kinds of advice and support. There are tutorials, forums, lots of project pages by many editors like you, and the ability to upload pics and downloads of your levels. :)
