the highlights make it look too shiney to me

I am liking the style. The sketch is not the best, but I seem to remember that you are one of those people who is really good. I want to see more of this.

Well thats actually what I was trying to go for. In that drawing, the light source is the sun shining down on him.

Promising. I think the style of shading you used could be awesome, but might need more practicing. It looks weird and ugly at some parts and cool and good in others.

The background obviously sucks, but i would assume that's not what you wanted comments about :)

Yeah, it seems a bit messy on the t-shirt in his upper arm region. Also, knowing the sun is the light source, it lacks some shades below his chin and at the t-shirt -> pants passage.

I'm ordering a 6x8 Graphire4 or Intuos3 tomorrow. I just gotta talk to my supplier see what prices they are and I'll make a choice. If he can get the Intuos3 at a decent price, I'm going to put out the extra for it.
