I hadn't drawn in months. Not perfect, but this is the best I could do after not having drawn a decent thing in so long. I'm satisfied myself. A bit uninspired perhasp, though. Tried to do something different with the light angle, which might not have been such a good idea.

I am no art expert, but I like it. The cheeks and neck are striking, to me, and I like the tall, slender physique, complemented by good taste in clothing. :p

To be honest, when I first saw it, it reminded me a lot of a younger, less evil Admiral Thrawn.

Your talent grows with each drawing.

Are you considering games design, such as character concepts and game art?

4 years of development on your skills should be sufficient.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

I'd have made his right foot pointing more towards the viewer.

I like it, but I agree about his right foot. It looks a bit off.

You guys are right about the foot, I'll see if I can correct it.

Ruthven: I'm at the moment in my first year of the Game Design and Development Bachelor programme at the Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands. And the actual design (game mechanics, character/story design...) is definitely my favourite part of the study. I also plan to do a Master course once I have my bachelor.

Concept art itself however is not particularly something that a game designer is concerned with, since game development companies usually have full-time concept artist. As a designer you mostly just have to discribe to them in full detail what you want drawn.

I also immediately thought of an Imperial sort of guy, or maybe a captain from a ship in the Matrix, you know?

-I like it a lot.

I did at first intend to make him look a bit matrix-y, but I diverted a bit from my origional idea though. I also used some references of WW2 uniforms, which could explain the Imperial feel. (Because you know, Imperials looked just like germans)

Glad you like it.

When I first saw it I thought Thrawn as well, which is good cause thrawn was cool.

Overall I like the drawing, but like everyone else, I have to agree the foot looks off. But since you all ready know this...

I think it's really a blend of styles. And ya know, George worked on Star Wars and Indiana Jones, and we all know what an idea stealing weiner he is, so would it surprise you if the Imperials were similar to the Nazis? :p

Considerable less time and effort was spent on this, resulting in a more rushed ans sketchy style.

Drew most of it during D&D-sessions. It's the character I'm currently playing.

Yakib Batirihunter. A wild dwarf from the land of Chult (Forgotten Realms). Wild dwarfs are rather small and Yakib is only 2'11". He's at the moment 2 levels Barbarian and 2 levels bard. He likes to go into battle first blowing his trumpet and then charing into the nearest enemy while raging with his longspear.

He used to have a masterwork quality handaxe, which unfortunately was pretty much sundered during combat. (evil-eyes DM) he isn't the most fortunate dwarf since he gets something drained pretty much in any battle. (Level, strenght, anything)

The flashy coat gives him some bonuses on his perform, but where mainly given to him by a fellow party member because he pretty much walked around naked before. Now he also wears a chain shirt under it. His hairy legs are still uncovered and shoes seem too fancy for him as well.

He used to wear 2 owl-bear feathers on his head, but they were scroched off after fumbling a reflex save to avoid a delayed blast fireball trap. Luckily Yakib stayed largly unharmed with his 10 fire resistance. The feathers are now replaced with those of Fiendish Griffins, since last session.

I can definately see that it is more rushed, but in many ways, it is a much more interesting picture than the first one. I really can imagine this little guy marching into battle and thrusting his deadly spear into the hearts of his enemies. :)
