Man, how long have you been working on this thing? It seems you are progressing, but seeing shots of it only once a year makes it hard to remember the last state. Some antialiasing wouldn't hurt, though, no?

Gotta say it-

Is that DF?!

Well it's a big project, and I don't get much time to work on it.
I don't think you can antialias in DF.

Sweet. Some parts look like the Coruscant Entertainment district from Bounty Hunter. :)

Awesome stuff, especially for DF

There is an At-St made for the game?

Yeah it's a custom 3do with the skins taken from Jedi Knight.

If it wasn't so grainy it would look like DF2. Nice man.

I like the twi'leks in post 2 shot 1.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Wait wait wait... That looks like you're inside an AT-ST.

Woah.

Uh, DF is all software, there is no hardware acceleration at all.

And amazing work!

LOL! Driveable vehicles in Dark Forces!!

A lot of that archi is fantastic for JK, or even more recent engines.... let alone the ancient Dark Forces. Nice and curvy... and great attention to detail and atmosphere! I'm quite impressed. If DF was capable of better lighting and hardware acceleration, those shots would be flawless.

Thanks a lot for all the positive responses.
The atst isn't actually driveable per se. It's just a combination of a lot of inf trickery and custom bms to give the impression that you're driving an atst. Basically you jump onto the head of the atst 3do and you're transported into a sector thats done up to look like the interior of an atst. You press the space bar to make it move, and it follows a predetermined path. Its all illusion, as is 99% of things that you make happen in DF. Its such and old game, with so many limits, but having said that, there are ways to emulate anything. Thats one of the thing I love about DF editing. It's like haiku poetry - the rules are so strict and stringent, but within those rules you can accomplish anything. All it takes is a bit of creativity and lateral thinking.

Looks like the AT-ST would be hella hard to drive, but damn that's awesome.

Comparing this to DF2 is more of an insult anything. Far superior to most JK levels, it'd be even better if it were higher res of course. Looks excellent. The door off to the right in the first shot doesn't fit well with the rest though, lower quality.

I still have DF, and can make it work on my comp. This is the best I've seen DF put out, and I'm not too surprised about the archi tho because the actual engine for DF isn't that bad (I've done a smidge of editiing for it, long time ago), tho only restriction on archi is that all normal vectors must either +/-Z or in the XY plane where Z is up/down wrt to the player's look dir.

The thing that has me going is being inside the at-st, if you actually are driving that, that is pretty damn awesome.
