Wow, not bad at all. Keep going. If you can keep that look up, it'll seem flat and cartoon, rather than a model.

I'm certain that's not what he's going for. Cloud was never hand animated or cell-shaded. He looked like a model in FF7 and frighteningly realistic in Advent Children. I think this is a comfortable medium between the both.

But whatever. You need to do more JK mapping and less Cloud modelling! :v:

That is really quite amazing, It is very similar to the way they rendered Cloud in the cut scenes of final fantasy 7. I like the way that you made it consistent to that. Keep up the great work!! The next I would like to suggest you make is Chocobo. Not the cute one like in chocobo racing, or the odd looking one in other final fanasy games, but the chocobo from Final Fantasy 7, and then have him in game and we can play as him!!! That would be awesome!!

Photoraping a texture like that makes it only look good from the front.

Unless you combine photorapes from different angles and UV em nice and proppa like.

I was too, but volumetric clouds in JK is still a long ways off...

Not really. We've got a more similar effect than you'd think running on some of Friend14's maps, and I think Ruthervein's got it in his map, too.

I dunno. >.>;; All the characters in AC were far too perfect for my own liking. Super ultra smooth shiny skin for all, ick.

Anyway, looking good so far. =D Looks true to the game, keep it up!

I have seen fog in JK. But to actuallyy make an object wih volume, opacity, and enough polygons to make it look like a gas must take a really long time, no? I know JK has the possibilities, but to spend all that time doing it! I remember it took long enough to make animated sprites when I was programming simple homemade games.

True it's possible, but I can't see taking all that time just to work on clouds, while other issues need to be addressed first (like high-detail objects that are closer to you)

Still you're right, though I doubt anyone will pursue it, it would be nice. I guess we'll just have to stick to high-detail background mats for the time being. Do you have a link to anything in progress JediKirby? I just haven't seen it before.
