Well, this is my first bit of work that I might submit to massassi someday...

Here's some pics:

Ohh, that brings back some good memories. I haven't played JO in the longest time...

Anyway, looks like a good start. I like your lighting, you've got htat part down pretty well. The architecture is pretty plain and basic right now, though. Could do with lots more curvy stuff. Break up the ceiling with some detail, or something. Looks good though. :)
DO NOT WANT.

I agree it needs more detail, maybe some roof beams, but I think curves would change the feel of the place.

Looks good.

The angled textures around that door are ugly. Here, this will help.

Wikissassi sucks.

Thanks for the comments. I didn't really like the door either, so I'll get to work on that. I was thinking I might raise the roof up a bit, as well as add the beams...

Do you know how to add flames? I was planning on putting some on the pillars.

For flames you'll need to place EFX type things. fx_runner it's called? I don't remember, it's been so long. :P

Please note that you might have to use the h-scale instead of the v-scale, depending on the orientation of the texture; and the value will vary with the size of the texture. The geometric proportions, however, work at any grid level. They are as close as it's reasonable to bother getting to a perfect 45 cut in qeradiant.

Very good work for a start.. My only suggestion is that you add more.. Maybe some pillars or such...

Take advantage of the more powerful engine. (flames would look nice)

Thanks again!

The level now has flames, so the orange lighting looks a little more natural.
I was thinking that I should add something more (it's just 2 rooms right now), and all I thought of so far were a secret maze thing, the throne, and maybe an upper level...

One suggestion...

Raise that cieling up and turn it into a dome and/or make some catwalks.

[oh, and maybe adjust the texture on the red carpet to have like a golden border or something...]

Ok, I have added the gold border(it's kinda simple right now, but I will refine it later), and I quickly fixed the door...

I'd definitely add to the ceiling some. Other than that, looks good.

Heh. Actually, it looks kind of like my first/only JA/JO editing project, Castle...never finished it. Glad to see someone has taken up the mantle.

Looks good.

yeah, that border on the carpet helps significantly...

One thing still.. Hard to see from the shot you gave, but it looks like where the carpet T's in front of the steps, the border just keeps going straight through. Might want to cut that surface up and have the border follow the carpet..

And take care of that ceiling and it will be great

As a quick fix, I basically copied and pasted the room to make an upper level. I plan on adding a guard rail, and some stairs up to it.

I almost never post on here anymore, but this reminded me of my old Grand Temple of Fire level, so I figured I HAD to post. Lookin' good so far! :D

I vaguely remember seeing a screenshot or two of the level... I think that's what gave me the idea for the fires...

Anyhow, railing is now in place, and I'm working on putting in stairs to the upper level.

I want to see updates on this with something cool done to the ceiling!

What about having the ceiling come to a more dome like structure? Basically, have it as a half-cylinder which maybe has some border-trim around the edge? By the way, this has a really good atmosphere thus far, I like it a lot :)

Although currently, it looks more like a temple than a castle. But I say stick with this look.

I've been avoiding using curves, kinda like the yavin levels in the game. Maybe a triangular top with a few beams would work... Anyhow, I have the stairs almost done, but I'm having trouble getting the level to bsp, so I can't check it in game.
