Oh, as for the level, it looks great. I mean, it's weird, technically the level isn't anything "OMQ!!111 I can't believe it's MoS!!!", but at the same time I really, really like it. It's fairly simplistic, but at the same time it does kind of feel like a city, and it certainly looks like awesome fun to play in! I really take to the lighting for some reason, and some of the buildings have very unique architecture. It feels Star Warsy! :D

I think it would work quite nicely as is, but more detail wouldn't hurt. You certainly have to "sell" JK/MotS levels to people these days, you know what I mean, Goit! The public has become too damn demanding. ;)

My voice may not be very good for what you want, but I'm willing to take a crack at it. Any certain lines you want me to record for you first? I've got a deeper voice (from what everyone tells me) than most other 13 year olds, so if you want my voice (possibly) just send me a link with a script and I'll try some lines for you.

You've got a hint at elaborate archi, but that's it. Keep redoing the area and redoing it again until it becomes so elaborate that you can't recall what was what, then hit 3D preview and marvel at your own amazing designs.

Then start merging. Ug, that's the hard part.

The arch isn't very elaborate at all lol. I chose this area as it probably has the best in the level thus far.

I'm concentrating on gameplay. That's my excuse :D - that and it looks like a simple, city as somebody else said, so that's my cue to stop spending time on it!

Also, I've tried to vary the textures a bit! Grismath, you!

Gameplay is important because it ensures that people will be able to play the map. Asthetics are important because it ensures that people will actually download it and play it more than once. If a map only has one element or the other, it simply isn't finished yet.

I agree. :) While it's basic archi at it's best, the textures aren't all that repetitive, and it looks quite nice, to me anyway. ;)

That water would look so much better if you make the water surface dark and greyscale (to match the hue of the starlit sky), and add slight negative surface light to the submerged surfaces. Trust me.

That really is quite beeautiful, the city-scape has a wonderful sense of scale that is missing in so many modern games. It definately feel Sithy alright, I'd go so far as to say that it's the most nostalgic level I've seen in a long time. It's not uber-detailed, but it doesn't need to be. The current archi suits the mood perfectly. I'd still do what halucid said though, and might I suggest adding a moon or some rolling clouds. I did that in Somnolence and it worked very nicely. Of course, the sky already looks very pretty, so it's up to you.

This map really shines in terms of mood. I know it's been said that the architecture is simple, but it works very effectively. You seem to have a good eye for layout and design. I know I haven't played it, but it just LOOKS like it flows well.

It wouldn't hurt to add maybe a little bit more detail, but it's fine as is. The only thing I can think of right now is .... hmm, I suppose I wonder what the area is? You say you get attacked here? Is this a shadier part of town, with less civilians and more thugs? In that case, the desolate look has already been achieved.

Could you give an overview of the whole level and story in general?

Story;

El Nerez (voiced by Daft_Vader) hired a smuggler, Magrucko Daines, to steal a crate of spice from an outer rim spaceport. Magrucko Daines did this, and has now travelled to the agreed rendezvous of Katraasii Space Port.

... unfortunatly, you're not the only person looking for El Nerez. It seems a certain crimelord called Takara is after him, and has sent a party led by Abron Mar to find him.



My aim is to make an enjoyable level, with some memorable characters, such as the 'Jesters' who speak in rhyme (voiced by - Tony -) and especially El Nerez.

It's also an excuse to further explore Abron Mar, and gives my take on what he's doing in Katraasi Space Port right before Mara Jade turns up.

Fascinating. But if this is Katraasii Spaceport, how come the architecture is different from the MotS level?
