So, what does that mean?

Time for some new OPTs! And this time I present you not one but FOUR OPTs at a time. OK, admittedly, they're rather similar, but it's the little differences that make life interesting, right? So...

Two revisions and two new releases is what I have here. By now most people know the BRX-700 Combat Yacht and Vince Trageton's notorious Barracuda, a heavily modified version of the stock BRX-700.

After those two were released I had decided pretty soon that they needed to be redone, needed a cockpit and more detail. So I started reworking them.

In the process of reworking the ships - and in the course of several Battle Threads a new ship found my intenrest, the Black Scorpion. With some more head-twisting hours of conceptioning I finally had the perfect background. Like Vasudra and Otana in original XWA were the player's personal ships, the Black Scorpion is the property of official TBP player character Mryna Qhalic. To make things more interesting - and justify some rather exotic design ideas I whipped together the 'Scorpion' will go through different levels of 'upgrades'.

Starting as a stock Combat Yacht you will go through these levels as the ship becomes stronger through the game.

Like always you can get all of these at your local X-Wing HQ

OK, now here's some cockpit views....

Love the red screens on blue background. Looks like some kind of stealth ship. One thing that would annoy me if I was playing XWA is how you've got the cockpit offset to the left...that big panel seems to block a lot of the visibility. I dunno. Maybe make that panel a window or put the cockpit back in the center or something.

No chance. I won't change a design that's been standing for over 3 years.

Besides, the quad auto turret sees everything.

I love that, I mean, I understand where Tracer was coming from, but I think it's cool that you are really in love with your creation and want to keep it as real to your own imagination and ideas as you want :)

Not that Tracer had a bad idea, I just think it's cool that you pride in your design so much :)

Yeah. I guess it's not a big issue as XWA lets you pan around with the mouse and POV hat (actually, I think I might reinstall XWA now that I've got a new computer and download a bunch of high-poly ships).

It does look amazingly cool, though. Did you also make the hangar?

Yes, but it's still WIP. it's somewhat 90% done, should release it within the next two weeks.

here are some screens of it.

Sadly my job doesn't leave me that much time as did my studies... :(

Awesome hangar. The hangar objects still like they're in the same positions, but it's hard to tell due to the size of the place.

I think I read somewhere (maybe JM's XWA expansion guide) that it's impossible to change some of the hangar objects. That could be wrong, though.

It may you can't change the position, but the objects themselves are just OPTs. (feel free to shoot me down if I'm wrong, General, I've only been around the modding info for a year or so :P )

Well, basically you're right. I you look at some of the screens you'll notice it's not always shuttles and X-Wings but Combat yachts adn Victory Mk2s.

However the thing is that the game exe is a bit weird.

I've put the Combat Yacht in the slot of the shuttle to make it appear in the hangar. Same goes for the Victory Mk2(X-Wing slot) and the other UPMF fighters that will replace the rebel fighters in the hangar.

If these ships appear in a mission, they will also appear in the hangar. If they don't, the engine will use the default craft that were originally in the hangar.

Weird stuff.
