Cophi Skycruiser

The little turbolasers are next on my list of things to work on, though the final product will probably be squat, blockish, and have two cannons. I'm also thinking about the engines these things use. Anyways, short version:
A large dirigible aircraft laden with heavy weaponry and protected via a magical shield, the Cophi Skycruiser is more than enough of a challenge for most aircraft. Each dirigible pod can sperate into it's own craft. Each pod carries two heavy cannons capable of firing a variety of ordanance, and eight light cannons which can pick off enemy gunships and infantry with ease.

-Same aircraft as this, though I like to think there has been some *slight* improvement.

It's pretty neat, and a cool render, but I consistently get the impression that a lot of your designs are dictated less by the imagination and more by the contraints of your modelling software, i.e. a lot of extrusions & inner extrusions, and a lot of basic primitives. Maybe try doing a sketch of the ship first and then working towards it? I can't help much as I have this problem myself. :p

Well, the ship was conceived as this design, three dirigibles inside a cage/framework, but the modelling software really does constrain me at times. Especially when I want to make a specific shape, or a face, or an animation, or texture something but I can't because Wings3d doesn't "do" vertex-by-vertex, animation, or textures.

-Of course, I suck at textures, but it's the principal. I've been thinking I may have to just give up and learn blender.

Beautiful model, but I can definately see what Thrawn is saying. Either way, I like it even if it is only for its originality. You don't see many models like this, usually spaceships are all way too similar. I wish I could model! :v:

I'm very tempted to put that in my signature. >_>

Fixed the cannons so they aren't turbolasers.
This is a design I've used on other ships.

-Can't be buggered to make a proper render.

The little light cannons I don't like. They seem very poorly attached to the wireframe.

Aside from that, what kirby said.
I had a blog. It sucked.

I agree, the ships look kind of boring and unrealistic. Unrealistic because I cant imagine it being functional.

The boxy cockpit loking things on top and bottom of each dirigible unit.

-And as for functionality... I guess I could... like... do some photoshops or something... let me get on that.

oh, i just thought that was housing for the big cannon looking things on top/bottom of them.
