critiques?

[edit, made a couple minor adjustments to the left hand, cause I noticed a couple coloring errors. I'm not gonna upload the new one yet though, in case I see something else.]

You either need proper shading in your coloring, or no shading at all and outlines.

And by that do you mean that he's a pimp who reminds you of a spanish person, or a spanish person who reminds you of a pimp?

If you make it cover the top of the belt buckle a tad, it'd look much better.

hmm, I think you're probably right. I also noticed just now that I forgot to color part of the buckle. I'll get an update up tonight hopefully if I like the results.

[also, looking it over, I think I may need to do some work around the neck/shoulder area to make it more anatomically correct.

UPDATE.

fixed the problem with the shoulds jutting out too much by raising the head a touch. Also tried lowering the bottom of the jacket a bit, but I'm concerned I may have screwed up that left hand (which is kinda resting *under* the bottom of the jacket now.

Better? Worse?

I think the cane should go. Otherwise, it's shaping up pretty nicely :)

This is not a big deal: my understanding is that a shirt collar generally does not sit down that far on anyone's trapezii, especially with a tie.

Mr. Hissyspaniola ( ;) ) may not want to wear a tight short coat and loose collar in the same outfit. Now, say if his collar were open and there was no tie, that's a whole other picture. He may also start to look like a yachting enthusiast, especially with a turtleneck...

You want to either make the trapezi [is that the right word?] stretch further out, or make the shoulders a bit narrower. Bring the collar of the jacket in too.

You might also want to define the chin a bit more because the skin tones between the face and neck are completely different. He doesnt look like he has a bottom lip either.
