Now my car 3do has new license plates and a lot of new cogging. The car can drive over ramps and actually go faster than 25. It has more realistic handling characteristics cogged in. You can go check it out yourself to experiment and tell me what you think. Download the JK level at http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=291.

Pretty darn cool! So many possibilities.

I wish the ramp was in the middle though :)

Last time i checked, skyline's brakes were much more effective than they're in that. Also it's got four wheel steering ;)

No, really. It's a great start. I made a project like this too, only it was a tank. and had a turret at the top of it that another player could control. :o

I found a bug too. When you accelerate and steer to right, then you keep accelerating and try to steer to left, the wheels stay turned to right and car keeps turning right.
Same thing with left.

I just tried it, that was sweet! You should throw in some cheap terrain with the next test. It feels like it handles TOO well. The turning circle seems really small, but maybe that's just that model.

Also the funny acceleration as Cavey mentioned. But I'm sure you're aware of all that.

Cavey, I found if you keep hitting left/right it works.

it looks like the car is turning really weird. the axis its turning on should be closer to the front i think.

Nononono. Skyline has 4WS, means four turning wheels

Skyline's do not have four wheel steering.. maybe you mean all wheel drive.

From what I know about the GT-R's 4ws, it seems the idea is not to change the turning radius, but to reduce oversteer. Though all of the sources seem to suggest that the rear wheels don't turn more than a few degrees in whatever direction the computer determines.

If you could somehow incorporate cars into a CTF game ... and make a simple level. Well, I'm sure it would win that contest hands down :)

That's the idea with every car's 4ws. But the few degrees already help turning a lot.

It's an available option. The reality is that very few Skylines and 4WS.

But I digress. What's important is that the car rocks and it's time to go racing :D

Every skyline that's been imported to finland has 4ws, maybe americans didn't get the good ones.

There's now a slightly better version at the Hub site.

Um yeah, the R31, R32, R33 had some 4WS option.

The R34, as displayed. Has no 4WS.

But to be more on topic. This mod is coming along nicely.

I just tried out the car and thought it was awesome. As mentioned previously, it has some strange handling issues. When you are going really fast and then turn, it seems like you are more sliding on ice than turning on pavement. It tends to slide you sideways. Maybe you meant to do that though for the sake of realism. Maybe it would help to add some friction effects (have the car shake slightly when you stop or when you make sharp turns). That would probably add a great deal of realism.

The model is sweet BTW! I especially liked the wheels.

I found this bug.

I rammed into the wall and the car drove up it. When it landed, it landed like this. When I turned, it turned the car on the Z axis still even though the car was vertical. I couldn't get it back down after that.

This is an excellent project. I am very impressed. Keep up the good work.
