Here's my own lil (re)creations of the standard imperial sidearm and E-11 blaster rifle, but you didn't need me to tell you that I bet. :ninja: Anyways, I'm not sure if I want to add the band arond the scope, I think it looks pointless, but thats me. :v:

Stats E-11 - 1.5 hrs - 2556 Triangles
Stats Imp Pistol - 40 mins - 536 Triangles
Both done in 3dsm.

Whatcha think?

The pistol is like a boxy german Luger.

Which is what they were based on.

They're swank. If you make more, can I use them? That would be sweet if I can make my level into a mini-mod with new weapons. :D~~
DO NOT WANT.

I like the one with the stock. Pretty damn sweet.
2006-08-08, 5:40 PM #5
I really love the model. Lots of detail. :)

Next up is the T-21 light repeating blaster, or just name the model you want. Is .max format okay, or do you want it in scaled .3do? :psyduck:

I don't know what JA uses. :(

the collapsable stock on the E-11 looks too long. You'd have a hard time putting that into your shoulder and comfortably holding that rifle...

I'm not so sure, Roach. I held out my arm, and I think it'd be just slightly long on me, and I'm 5'5". So anyone taller than me it should fit well. But then again, you'd most likely want to support the rifle with your other hand, so maybe it is a bit long and too far out.
I had a blog. It sucked.
2006-08-09, 12:28 AM #10
It's not really about whether or not it would fit into your arms, but whether you can comfortably hold the rifle and still be able to use the scope.

That being said, I really like those models.

If you look at just about any rifle, you'll notice the end of their stock comes out to just slightly beyond where the normal E-11's stock ends. The collapsible stock goes well beyond that, infact, it doubles the length from shoulder to trigger. I just think he needs to scale that back so it's more correct.

Here's reference pics

Here's my 2nd reference pic for the stock of the Sterling SMG.

If there's a problem with the size of the stock, then its not my fault, granted I could take alil more creative licence, but I think the long stock allows the scope/sights to be used, looks better, and it makes it functional in real life as well. Plus, also think about the original design, it was for the British, who, when shooting at something, extend their arms and the weapon all the way out instead of tucking into the shoulder like Americans are used to, 'cept for maybe precision shooting. *shrugs* Least, this is my understanding......

Also I've never worked with or in JA, I could possibly get the model into that formant, w/e it is, for you to texture and add in....

JO and JA use the .md3 format. I think textures are in another directory, but I'm not sure.

I very much like the E-11, but the handgun...blah. Mebbe make the top part a little thinner? And, I'd shrink the E-11's stock a little bit. Other than that, it looks good.
2006-08-09, 11:30 AM #14
I think it's a very good model, but the stock's design in your second reference picture is different from yours.
2006-08-09, 12:44 PM #15
Yes, I inverted teh stock, I feel its much more functional this way, my lil bit of creative license. :ninja:

The pistol is based off the one in JK that the imp officers (and rodians) use. *shrugs*

Zell, I uploaded the E-11 in .max, .obj, .3ds, and finally .md3, incase the md3 didn't save correctly, perhaps one of these will work. *shrugs*

Anyways, here's my T-21 repeating blaster rifle. Buildtime - 1.1 hours. Triangles - 1668. Whatcha think?

Please say it will finally have a reload function...

Please?

PLEASE!??!

That's awesome, but it needs textures. Thank you for the model, though. :)
DO NOT WANT.

DAMN good. I've been trying to model a T-21 forever. Mind if I borrow this model to see how you interpreted the poor shots of this gun? Or maybe you found a unique very detailed reference pic?

I went primarily off the 1st shot because I like the feel of it better. Plus it seems to match the actual movie shot better...... :psyduck:

What format do you want it in JediKirby?

And of course it will have a reload function, theres that box thats right behind the barrel that will detach, unless you want another pic w/ it removed already....

Also, I can model about 100x faster than I can texture, and with 5000x times the goodness. :v:

That last reference is a GOD send. Nice find. I wish I could find something like that for the S-5 security blaster.

.3ds or .obj is fine, by the way.

I thought that was only when they had a sling on the gun, they'd pull the rifle away to put stress on the sling, I could very well be wrong though. I'm just saying, the hand pulling the trigger would almost be at the position you'd want your hand at the foregrip to be.

Yeah, I've got those. They're relatively small for my needs.

Thanks for the models. They'll be helpful if I ever make my own T-21 (Which I've wanted to do for a while, but couldn't discern the bad shots of it)

Even more imperial gun modeling goodness, the DLT-19 and the DH-17, hopefully you guys know which is which. I think I put too many polys into the stock of the DLT-19.... :v:

Stats
DLT-19 - 1.7 hrs - 1008 triangles
DH-17 - 20 mins (I basically c/p the E-11 and did minor altercations b/c design so similar :ninja: ) - 1272 triangles.

As always, whatcha think?

the 17 looks nice, and it is rather obvious you ripped that from the E-11 :P
Don't know enough about the 19 to compare.

Now thats a good reference shot. Kirby will be happy.

Actually, see that unlinked project in my sig, thats what this is for.
SATNRT = Special Anti-Terror New Republic Team (b/c PVNRT was taken, tho noones prob gunna get that one lol and SWATNRT sounded too cheesy :v: ) But imagine a cross between R6, Splinter Cell, SOCOM, and the SW Universe and you'll have SATNRT, more or less. I'm still keeping the project on the down-low until I clear out my other projects. :ninja:
