This gun may look familiar, that's because it is in the Alien movies.

Just doing this for fun. I have to add a few small details to add, and then create the materials.

the handle looks cartoony in comparison to the rest of it. Flatshade?

It's just not mechanical looking like the rest of it, kirby. So...I see where you're coming from, but I like it.

I can see where Kirby's coming from, since the lower edges on the grip look smoothed, which doesn't quite fit with the techy design.

Well yeah, all of the reference shots I've ever seen have made those ridges in the handle go all the way around, not little indents on the side. I think harder edges and ridges would fix my qualm. Then again, it's just a grip.

Damn that looks nice.

But the handle does look a little cartoony...could be fixed with good texturing though I'm sure.

Well, yes there are still a few details I must finish for the handle, but so far I like it.

Of all the references I looked at (even from the movie) I thought this looked the most agressive, and best proportioned.

I agree about the handle...it doesn't fit with the rest of the style. It might be true to the reference, but still...
But yeah, the handle will be covered by a hand, anyway...and it looks pretty comfortable.

Look at the Thompson submachine gun (or Tommy gun if you will) for the pistol grip, since that's what the prop is built around.

Also, the foregrip/clip section isn't hollow, and the buttstock seems too long to me. Otherwise, omg you good, you really god. (no thats not a typo ;))

Yeah, I was going to mention that too, that it's not hollow.

And the stock on that reference is definetly too long.

Nah, the handle is meant to be plastic or rubber, not metal.
