I was looking at some concepts of the UT2k7 lightning gun and figured I'd try and make my own version. I'll admit it's not as cool looking as the real deal, but at the very least it's more, uh, ghetto-fabulous.

Ugh. That gun sucked. In 2k3 it was supposed to replace the sniper rifle, but it sucked ***. I missed UTs original weapons so much.

Seems like it's awkward to hold, especially for a sniper rifle.

And yeah, the sniper rifle in UT was much more believable. It was basically an M16 with a scope on it. :D

I'll admit it's kind of huge, but on a tripod I don't think it would be any worse than a Barret M87 MG42. Besides, how many quake or unreal weapons would be wieldy in real life?

You know, they look like floating bunny heads, and could be the third reference to Sam & Max in JK. And the least obvious one (or something).

You have to jump off the catwalk backwards to see it, because as soon as you hit the cargo ship the level is over and you can't turn around. But the end level cog does sit there for like 20 extra seconds so you have a chance to enjoy it.

And of course, if you actually get into the room Max is in, he kills you. You don't even stand a chance. He shoots like a million shots a second and has more health than Jerec.

It's in Baron's Hed. When you first get out of the sewers and into the city, there's a door near the bridge that spans the the river. A woman will eventually come and "unlock" the door.

those are awesome. though i'd make the fins with a little more detail. the original skin made them look almost like airfoils or wings on a plane that have steering mechanisms (looks like the way a hovercraft turns)

Those kinds of details are better saved for the texture and (though not possible in the JK engine where this will end up) normal maps. I wanted to keep the polycount low especially since in JK you'll never see that crap anyway.

oh i didnt think it was going into Jk. well i guess, then. i would make them sharper though. like instead of having flat edges. top view kinda like <> instead of [IIII] you know? it'd be around the same polys, it'd just look less blocky and smoother. i just think the fins stick out too much(no pun intended).

Go to the building with a second floor. When you walk down the stairs and out the door, the next building will have opened (if not wait there until it does, I forget exactly) and then you can go in for some powerups and Max.

Activate him to see stuff from his POV, doesn't last and you can't control him.

Whee, textured! Though I'm not really happy with the underside... I think the model would benefit from losing some polies from the midsection, and adding low poly underside detail back in.

Nice job. It looks a little to grainy, but I can't tell if it's grainy textures or just a bad screenshot.

Anyway, you should consider using S51's Concussion Rifle in JKE while you're at it. I understand it would need to undergo some serious polygon reduction sergery, but I'm sure between the 2 of you, it would be the sexiest gun ever.

I think it's your monitor or something. The screenshot/textures look perfectly smooth to me.

Shred has put a lot of work into the conc in JKE, and I like the way it looks quite a lot. I'd prefer him to keep his own.

Nope, it's not my monitor. It looks the same on all 3 of mine. Looks like a noise filter was added in parts, or bad jpeg compression. Whatever, I don't mind. They're just flags.

And comparatively speaking, the conc is the least detailed of all his weapons, and doesn't seem to have the same level of consistancy. This is, of course, just an opinion.... but I know I'm not the only one who thinks so.

And for the record, I don't hate Shred's conc.... it's just that all of his other guns (minus the bryar) look sooo much better... especially in 1st person. Overall, it's rather boxy, and too bluish for my tastes. To each his own, but I know he could do better.
