Why do I do this if I hate advertising. Tho I guess its that part of me that is hoping peeps are waiting for me to actually finish this beast. I took these by posing models with specific keyframes and then entering the level and screenshoting it, so this is how it will be in JK. However, these first 3 are after a pass has been added for simple lighting in PSP7, and no I wasn't really caring how good it truely looked, just a quicky thing.

These 2nd 3 are direct from JK tho w/ logoish thingy added.





Also, the level that I used for this I'll be releasing afterwords tailored specifically for Aliens TC.

(hopefully it's darker but not too dark, if you want a brighter/higher contrast of any, just ask, or diff size)

I like how you made new animations for the characters already. Rarely is there a mod that uses its own character animations.

Yeah. The arm on the foregrip of the smartgun should be straight, though, since the smartgun is supposed to be heavy. Oh, and the pictures are too dark.

I think the lighting is fine, a little hard to see your screenshots but how an aliens level should be.

Can we play as an alien? I always liked been the alien in AvP

Ha ha. I couldn't see the alien in the first shots. The lighter shots make it seem like something out of the movies.

I thought the darkness was fine. Brighter than some of these dark levels. Even with my ****ty monitor, I could see the pics fine...

I think they look great on my LCD monitor.

Even with the second pics, for advertising you need waaaay more contrast than that.

As far as brightness goes, you have to take into account that many people won't be viewing under ideal lighting conditions (i.e. very dark), but instead in a reasonably well-lit room. The brightness and color on my CRTs are calibrated within quite reasonable accuracy, and I think it lacks contrast and brightness. I can see it, but it could be better.

You should look for promotional posters from the Alien movies as well as AvP. If I recall correctly, they are high contrast. Dark parts show the scary but the highlights make it visible. It would be worth considering styling your promotions in a similar matter as the movies, since they are familiar.

Yes we do, because it's still not right. You need to be able to SEE the wallpaper.

Changed the brightness

Brightness and contrast aren't enough. Google "how to fix underexposed photographs." You generally use the curves and levels functions in Photoshop or similar. Also, the text should be anti-aliased.

Better... but I dunno, I find the general environment too dark for a wallpaper (for my tastes at least). Not something you could do anything about.
