A Prestige Class for D&D, which started as an explanation for how I run my games, turned into a Jedi, and ended as a mass of Dune references...
The Prana-Geki Warrior
Notes:
Still working on the "Lightsaber" construction system. It might be easier to go with Soulknife rules.
I couldn't find the game text for Vow of Poverty anywhere, but I went with it. A Jedi's only possession is his lightsaber, and that's all this guy gets to keep.
In order of their mention:
The Prana is the Sanskrit idea of an energy field between living beings and the universe.
Jidaigeki is a genre of Japanese cinema that's all about Samurai and bloodless cuts and honor and stuff like that.
The Odic Force is the European version of the Ki theory, an internal energy field that promotes health and whatnot.
The Tao/Dao is an all-encompassing idea of destiny and the path we must all walk. It just occurred to me I should change Tao to Dao and Od to Oad, for symmetry. Huh...
The Brahman is the full on transcendental over-destiny of the universe which ties the whole of reality together, or something.
Wuxia is a genre of Chinese cinema all about heroes and crazy powers.
Bushido is the Samurai Code.
The Kwisatz Haderach, Hebrew for "Short cut" (literally, "Jump of the Path") is both an ancient term for teleportation (a class feature I just now realize I forgot, as they're planeswalkers, they should have something) and the name for the Chosen one in the Dune Universe, which shares some characteristics with both the Star Wars universe in general and the idea of the Son of the Suns in specific.
The Bene Gesserit are an order of witches in the Dune series, again similar in many ways to the Jedi.
The Krazilec is the Dune version of Armageddon, the Ragnarok, a battle at the end of time.
-I may have to work teleportation/planeshifting back in. I forgot to the first time.
