Also, because of the pattern of the fire, it looks like it's flying around or away from the planet, not towards it. Very good, though, I like the fire.

Thanks a lot! You guys are pretty observant. Here's a midday doodle to accompany it. This one I made huge (compared to how I usually mess around); it's 3200 pixels wide. I think the contrast and detail came out a lot better on this one as I made it, so I didn't have to fiddle with the contrast and such afterwards, makes it look better, I think.

Oh, yeah, I guess I should explain a little bit. There's really not much too it, just images that popped into my head last night so i felt like drawing them. Yes, they're very high powered light-type things, memorials. And yes the fireball thing is orbiting around the planet, not really heading straight at it. However, the orbit is inevitably going to degrade, after all. Some day. Hence "The Approach". Beyond that, it's just something i felt like doing.
