Chapter 1 - The story begins
"These are dark times, my son."
- "But brother and I want to join the rebellion, father."
- "You cannot. I forbid it. You will not risk your life for what I have started."
The sound of hooves echoed throughout the dark forest surrounding this small wooden cotage. Neligan, father of Adhiel and Castien, walked towards the window and peaked out. There were a douzen Dark-Serviceman lined up outside of the home. "Get down boys. Your mother and I will take care of this." Neligan said, as he and his wife, Anira, walked out of the house, towards the patient serviceman. Adhiel peaked out the window, watching his parents closely.
- "What do you mean you don't have it!" Yelled the Dark Commander
- "We..." Neligan stalled for a few seconds, and then continued. "We don't have it, sir."
- "Hmph. You sure old man?" Responded the Dark Commander.
- "Yes, I am sure." Neligan said, hesitantly.
- "Bah, what a disgrace! Well then, old man, you're time is up. Men, search the house and kill this old fool." The Dark Commander ordered. He glanced at Anira. "And take the women."
- "What?!" Yelled out Neligan, his grey eyes starting to soak with tears. "You cannot take her!" he yelled, holding Anira close.
The men snatched her from Neligan's arms and dragged her to the buggy. "Let her go!" Neligan demanded, trying to free her from their clutches. The commander looked at him, gave a grin and gave a signal to his men. They approached Neligan, pinned him to the ground by stepping on his calfs and held his arms out. "You old fool. You could have both lived." The commander swung out his sword, and slashed Neligans throat. His head slowly slid off his shoulders after the clean cut of the merciless commander. "You will never mess with Tangon again, old fool." The heartbroken mother burst into tears, her long silky hair moving in the wind as the buggy started to move away. Her beautiful complection turned white and despaired. Adhiel and Castien, watching this, ran out of the back door, trying not to make their cries heard.
It's been 5 years since that dreadful day. Shortly after my fathers death, the rebellion fell. Without him as their ruler, they were lost and confused. Not long after, I managed to find myself some friends, and a place to stay. Good old Raina is always there for us. I met up with a few friends and now, we are the new-rebellion, also known as the Umbrage Alliance. Our goal is to find the hidden temple of Armage, in the mountains of Arya city. The city is of the most advanced technological locations in the world. Unlike the Umbrage Alliance, they do not have any knoledge of Spiritual and Physical abilities. Inside of the temple, is a small book. The book is called "Valadhiel" or so we've heard. Inside of it is the key to defeating Morohtar and to regain peace. It might not be true and we have no idea how it may defeat him, but we have to try.
We were sitting at my house when we were informed of Valadhiel. I was drawing in my journal quietly while the rest of the gang sat around the room silently. I finally put away the journal and sat up and glanced at them. "You really need to quit drawing in that thing." delcaired Anion, our summoner. He wasn't very threatening with his ghostly white hair and those black streaks. His lanky body wasn't much to fight against, but for what he lacked in strength, he gained in his abilities. He didn't wear any armor over his clothing, but he did wear a small vest underneath his shirt. His clothes were baggy and lightly ripped. His abilities in summoning were beyond what we've ever seen. He could raise the dead with one finger and summon the strongest beast with the other. Though a little cocky at times, he was a really great guy. His hair displayed exactly how he was. The white representing his nice, fun and easygoing side. The black symbolized his strong seriousness and vengefull self. His pure-white eyes weren't very menacing, but more seducing. Like me, he too has lost a loved one. His younger brother was killed by Morohtar about 4 years ago. He was only 13.
Sahryah was standing next to me. She looked at Anion and gave him an idiotic look. She started to mock him indignantly. He looked at her and appologized. She turned around, waving her red hair out of her eyes in an egoist fashion. She walked slowly towards the door, waving her curvatious body around confidently. "I'm going out for a bit of fresh air, anyone want to come?" She questioned the group. Varya, one of the maneki-neko twins, stood up and raised one of her hefty cat-like ears and replied with an innocent voice, "I'll go!" She gave a smile, waved her dark red hair and walked out the door, closing it behind her with her tail. She was always outgoing and never scared to give her opinion, and usually followed Sahryah around. They were good friends. Varya was the only one that kept Sahryah's mind off her husband, who was killed 6 years ago by one of the Morohtar Elites. She managed to survive due to his courageous sacrafice of throwing himself out to keep her hidden.
On the other hand, Fëa, Varya's twin sister, wasn't so outgoing. She was shy and seemed very intimidated. At the time, I think she had crush on me. She had dark blue hair and looked very similar to Varya, though a little cuter and innocent and had dark blue hair instead of dark red hair. She didn't speak much, but when she did, she said what needed to be said. Of both the Neko Twins, Fëa was the quickest thinker. Both had the ability to morph their bodies into anything their hearts desired. The only downfall of their abilities were that their clothes, no matter what they wore, wouldn't morph with them. When they would return to their normal state, they were completely nude. Ofcourse, they did figure out how to cover themselves. They would either hide themselves with their tails or morph their private areas to become unisexed and would just find something new to wear, then demorph.
Castien was the youngest of our group, my little brother, but never the less, extremely powerfull. His long dark hair would raise everytime he used his abilities to manipulate the elements. He could control water, fire, earth and wind at his free will. The only problem that he had to deal with, was his temper. In anger, the control of his power was lost, and anything could happen. So, naturally, we'd all have to watch what we do around him. The only person who could get away with anything was Varya, as Castien and her were close. Sometimes I wonder how close they really were.
Caladhiel ran into the house, followed by Sahryah and Varya. Her white hair covered the left side of her face, as she had a dark scar over her eye from an encounter with a Morohtar Elite. She managed to escape that one with some magic arrows and the help of Anion. He was always nice to her, it would seem as though he liked her. She was always the clueless one, as she'd be lost quickly. To our surprise, as she was running in, she yelled, "I know how to stop Morohtar!" We all looked at her intriguingly as she started her story...
