Hey folks!

Just a little status report for those who follow my works.

I'm in the process of restructuring my website on the technical part, getting rid of any frames and the such. Work's proceeding well here.

Also, there's a few new WIPs I have in store.

First of all, there's the Dominance Battlecruiser, right in the middle of OPTing and coming along pretty well IMHO.



Next, but not least, as I'm slowly getting a hang of making star destroyers, I have chosen (or was beaten) to take over the task of reconstructing the long awaited Super Star Destroyer Executor for the XWA Upgrade Project

Nice. I have the overwhelming urge to buzz the thing at breakneck speed for some reason. The lines on it are perfect, very sleek.

(So where the hell would one snag a copy of XWA these days?)


How big is that thing supposed to be, anyway?

I bet it's another one of those "Makes an SSD look like a Z-95 by comparison" ships. o:

Actually no. Except you go with the belief that the SSD is only 8km long

The Dominance is around 13 km in length, so about a quarter smaller than the SSD.

BTW, here's an update on the 'true' SSD. Still a lot to do though

Can't say for sure, as there are tris and quads.

It'll be something between 7k and 9k polys I believe.

the first. Called Omega arrays

This new concept of weapons energy augmentation combined a prototypical system tested on the fallen Battlestation Bridesta One with the harvested Dhilani weapons and shield technology.

The principal of the omega system was to augment the firepower of a normal weapons emplacement by collecting energy from other emplacements and thus deliver the semi-super-weapon scale energy without constructing the actual super-weapon emplacement.

To achieve this all weapons involved are being aligned to fire at each other, absorbing and forwarding the energy that was fired at them, creating a chain of energy that travels towards a focus point. In consequence super-scale blast would be created delivering the entire firepower of the ship while requiring only the energy of a single shot of each weapon involved. Additionally this system would allow any weapon emplacement to be used as a super-weapon and further avoid the long charging times. Also this system would leave no central target for attackers, as any standard weapons emplacement could step in as a focus point.

On the Dhilani part of this technology, two aspects were implemented into the system. First be the Dhilani weapons technology which generally delivers a greater payload of weapon energy than the usual DIP cannons. The second is the Dhilani’s unique shield technology that allows them to absorb and store energy. While on Diamond stations each weapon emplacement in an omega-array was fitted with a special energy collector this new system creates a small energy shield around each weapon emplacement, allowing for a much quicker weapon alignment while generally protecting the weapon from hostile fire.

Combining the new Dhilani technology with the prototype Omega-concept, ESS technicians have developed a flexible and deadly superweapon that can easily put up with the fusion cannon.

The large flexibility also allows scaling the energy delivered, as not all weapons involved have to be used or the firing chain can be divided into several smaller chains that could e.g. be directed at multiple targets at a time.
