Ancient Empire. A non cannon story from another galaxy of billions of ancients living in a grand civilisation isolated on two twin class m worlds orbiting one another. And the second is a new backdrop I made for future stargate wallpapers.

Both in 1600x1200 wallpaper size

you need more contrast between the buildings and the sky, its kinda hard to differentiate :/

I really love the architecture (arux? Anyone? Anyone??) of the buildings in the first shot, but why is the quality so poor?

Reminds me a bit of Stargate: Atlantis.

I think you should go easy on the stars though. While that may be what it would actually look like, it confuses and distracts the audience from what you're really showing them. My attention instantly goes to the stars, and even when I'm trying to look at the planet and the city, I keep looking at the stars instead.

I also don't like the giant white spot on the planet in the first pic.

I assume it's supposed to be a glare from a sun, but it doesn't look good.

I like how there isn't much contrast between the buildings and the stars. My favorite architectural designs are those that blend in and become an extension of their environment. In this instance, the stars would be the environment. Maybe that's just me...

Speaking of Atlantis, I'm still waiting for the JA level.

Very nice cityscape, definitely resembles Atlantis, but I get the feeling it's just a resemblance by looking at it.

Nice planets too. :)

Maybe some backlighting from the moon could help with the contrast between the sky and the buildings?

I pretty much abandoned it Got so many compile errors ot was rediculous so maybe when an engine comes along that can handle it. For now Im working on a lightwave version of atlantis Until that day comes. This pier is 57% complete.

It's partially because it's about the third desktop I've seen in that resolution. :P

You could also create it in such a way that you don't get said errors.

Also, your starscapes look like noise. That ain't good.

Haha, sort of does remind me of Manaan now that I think of it. Yet at the same time it's something completely different.

Nice work, Casper. I too have the fourth image sitting on my desktop. (Especially because images of planets simply cannot be beaten when it comes to desktops.) I like the composition of the images quite a bit, but I couldn't explain to you why they work for me. Good job on the first- that's a tricky image. It's interesting how the city bleeds into the skyline so well- very surreal. Good stuff.
