The Greenscreen Tutorial is now online!

This is a detailed how-to of the effects I've used in the movies I've made recently.

wait... i was about to post some crit and questions untill i scrolled down and saw it was all about computer games.

Heres a question: Baring in mind I did not read the tutorial because of its basis in gaming, would it still be useful to me if I read over it in preperation for when I use the green screen with actors and live action filming?

Sure, the basics are the same. Check out the special features for "Shaun Of The Dead". A lot of the great blasts of gore to the head was tricked in with greenscreen much in the same way.

Here's a good greenscreen tutorial for you.

1. Light the screen well.
2. Have your actors stand at least 5 feet in front of it.
3. Use the eyedrop tool in the choma key to find the correct hue.
4. Adjust tolerance and edge feather until it looks good.
5. Don't use greenscreen in low budget videos. It's not worth the hassle, and if you need greenscreen, you are probably doing something too ambitious.

Being overly ambitious is a bad thing. It leads to attempting to create something that you cannot possibly do. Being ambitious within your financial and achievable means is a good thing. Push it to the limit, but know the limit. Do what you can do. You'll get a lot more attention that way as opposed to trying to do something you cannot, and having it come off lousy.
