Scanned in 8x11 and messed with it in Photoshop. I think my scanner sucks (or my screen) but I was able to fine tune some parts of the print that I couldn't do with the enlarger.

EDIT: also compression >:(

good work, i'd say.

but with enough work and time and effort you can do anything in wet darkroom that you can in photoshop. (with the exeption of some of the filters i.e. liquify or something)

also you need to work on your contrast. they both look pretty good, but lack that extra...pop. they seem flat. a slight boost in cotrast would help with this.

(dont you non photo people get on with "of course its flat its a 2d representation!" the object is to make a 2d representation feel 3d.)

say if you printed with a #2 filter in the darkroom, switching to a 2.5 or a 3 would help immensely. this would probably require expoure adjustments to the main exposure and/or the dodge/burn times.

not bad imo, but room for improvement.

Its a great picture and for a scanned image its shows up all the detail, and the mon ocrome colours bring it out. That would actully make a good desktop as well :)

Ford said what I was going to, but with more expertese..

So listen to him.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

I agree with ford on the contrast.

Picture #1:
I really love the contrasting angles of the tree and the close telephone pole. That really stuck out at me (in a good way). I might have tried to capitalize more on it though.

#2:
Again, interesting lines here. I like the tree coming off the cliff at that angle, and how the sign points parallel to the road. Definitely would have tried to make the clouds more visable. More contrast there though, or possibly just let it expose a bit longer. I really love how you have perpendicular lines (road, sign) and then angled lines cutting into it (edge of the cliff).

Overall: I like your composition.
