Started working with some new special fx

Anyway, yeah it's nothing special, just some work I'm trying out. It's pretty self-explanatory just tell the truth how it looks or w.e.

It made me giggle and reminded me of old-school special effects. If you practice/work on it you could make it look better. Maybe don't use such a dramatic effect on the cup? The beam part wasn't bad, and sound would have helped a lot. ;)

It looks like you almost made that in paint... Your effect needs some work, maybe you should try using a better program like After Effects. You can render out some very cool blaster shots, lightsabers, force lightning, and much, much more. Or you can stick with photoshop and premiere, which I think are the programs you used, and sharpen your skills.

For the effect itself, it just doesn't look good that your can dissapears after having had a beam embracing it. At least the laser should have been progressive, not instantaneously embracing the whole can, a few frames where the beam starts from the end of your blaster, gets to the can and embraces it to destroy it would've been a lot better. Also, an object cannot dissapear like that, even disintegrating leaves at least some ashes. If you put your camera on a tripod so that the shot stays still, you could add fake ashes through the use of your computer.

I made a short video recently incorporating multiple effects test, including a blaster shot, you can have a look at it if you want. Here's the link.

Don't be discouraged, you're off to a good start. But remember, there's always room for improvement! ;)
