Add maybe... 6 inches to the blade length. The central core also looks a bit wide.

Yep, the core's too wide. It should be about 3/4 the width of the handle.

I tried to optimize the blade size so you can't see my lightsaber through it. (It's a toy lightsaber with the slide blades. I haven't finished my actual prop yet.)

If I can, I'll be updating the video with whatever changes I can make.

When I was toying around with building hilts and whatnot, I used a 3ft section of 1/2" or 3/4" irrigation PVC. They're threaded at each end, you just pick the 3ft section out of a bin. It's just about the perfect size for the saber core and the right length.

Yeah, due focus is place on the lightsaber and its attributes...

But dude, this makes no sense in a kitchen. I demand green screen actors and surreal galactic environments.

Or at least make your kitchen more spaceship-y by scrolling some stars outside the window.
