I figured out an easyer way to get my Atlantis map ingame. Use skyboxes for each area then link the areas with transporter closets. And having already making a high poly Atlantis mesh in lightwave I opened up lightwave and got busy and created two skyboxs. Both work perfectly 100% seemless. If they are rough I apologize they are the highest quality I could get in JK3

I agree about the low quality skybox.

Otherwise, that looks pretty splendid.

Can't you use multiple 1024x1024? Cause it could look a lot better than it already does.

No, he can't. You can't tile the skybox like that, and you can't just make a huge box like in JK - the compiler will still cut that huge box into smaller chunks, and totally rape your vis times.

Though, IIRC, the q3 engine doesn't have a built in texture size, so if the hardware supports 2048 textures, they should work fine.
Wikissassi sucks.

I pity I don't care about JA anymore.

HL2 version? :v:

I think it looks good. Nice work on the skybox.

Yeah, it is an issue but what can you do. You could do a skyportal with your model in it (if you can import it in the game). The model would be rendered huge, but I'm not sure how well that would work. I'm not sure about the texture size limit with q3, so a skybox would (probably) be the best solution.

The model is extreamly high poly though.

Yeah. It might come off awful and the framerate would go to hell. But the thing is, with the skyportal + model, it might give more of the feel of "you being there among the buildings" than a skybox ever would.

You could give it a try.

Well first off have any idea how to convert Lightwave models.

2nd. I doubt JKA would even load the model its high poly as in through the roof. also. even if I did set up a sky portal the lighting and the water and sky I can get in lightwave just woulden't be there.

Anyway another sucessful experiment gone well with skyboxs. Daedalus. Just started on a new bridge

Go grab yourself a copy of Lightwave and I will be glad to teach you :) Now for some new screens. After some photoraping (credit Caboosium) I managed to puzzle together and complete the entire stain glass window.
