Tablet practice.

So I've had a tablet for a while, but I've never gotten comfortable drawing with it. So today I started a picture of a futuristic under city.
Since I've never really drawn with one, I could use some pointers. The picture isn't finished, but hopefully some of you can offer some good advice which will enable me to make this look better than it normally would.

Sorry, forgot to mention. It's sort of an alley, the windows will have posters in them and there will be other ads around. I'm also going to add people so you can get an idea of the scale.

What kind/size tablet is it?
I got a 6x8 intuos3 for christmas.
I've never found tablets good for hard edged, straight lined things like that.
If you're new to useing a tablet I would suggest starting with people, animals, plants, organic things that would emphisize the greater freedom of useing a tablet. Especialy if it has pressure sensitivity.

It's a Wacom Steel Blue, 14.5 cm 1.3 cm. Not the newest piece of equipment, but it was free. It's pressure sensitive, though, I haven't really needed it since I'm just laying the base colors right now.

The ceiling is too clean and square for cyberpunk, if that's what you wanted. But it's so basic a sketch I can't say much.

The ceiling was bothered me from the start. Though, I've fleshed out some of the vaguer aspects of the picture. Still a lot of work to go.

Tablet tips, huh? Assuming this is in photoshop;

Use a hard-edged round brush with opacity set to pressure sensitivity by default for most everything.

Make friends with at least one of the chalk brushes.

A hard round brush with a high spacing creates very nice texture. Try it.

Soft brushes suck.

Do this. http://forums.cgsociety.org/showpost.php?p=3629421&postcount=3

While I don't have any advice specifically on using tablets, I would just like to remind you that using a tablet should be considered just as different of a medium as using pencil or pen or charcoal or what-have-you. Looks for what pros and cons it seems to offer as you adapt to it, and don't try to force yourself too hard to try and obtain a look that you get with other mediums. You seem pretty adapt at using the tablet as it is already, so yeah... :P

The tram-rail looks either too small or looks too low for how big it should be. At least, for how big you said that tram was.
