You designed it? If so, I'll say it's kinda generic. Either way, the drawing is quite nice!

yeah, its difficult designing something non generic whilst enabling it to interact on a certain level alongside humans, such as warfare.

What is the purpose in you mind of the tentacle hair? Right now it seems kinda unclear, but if you were to decide, say, that they were some kinda sensory organ or some kinda cooling device or anything, you could emphasize that look and it would make the creature more believable. ( not to say that it is now unbelievable, but it would flesh it out more )

tentacles are dual purpose. A moderate amount of de oxygenated blood (which is a clear gel) is passed through the tentacles, allowing for heat loss on their warm jungle planet. Heat regulation is vital, over a certain temperature their blood reacts with its own aminoacids/chemicals and becomes toxic.

On a cooler and less mundane function, these tentacles can detect extremes of frequency in unison with its main high developed ears (the inward spiral hole behind their jaw), especially lower frequencies and tremors.
