honestly i cant tell what game that's for.

i dont know if its that JO looks so dated now, or that what people have been doing with JK is just so awesome, but yeah. cant tell.

Reason for no shadows = crappy temporary ground texture I put in place. All that you see is subject to severe change. It's a prequel to my other level.

I really like the pipe structures on the ground. Looks like you got a good hang of combining patches and brushes. Also, very good texturing work. Keep up the work, soldier!

It had about 10,700 brushes in the editor, but whenever I compiled, using any compile, it said there were more than 32768 brushes... :huh:

I think the light beams ruin the effect. Try without them.

To clarify: The light beam doesn't look like it match the color of the lighting, which makes the scene look awkward.

For the terrain, you can add phong to make the ground work even smoother. Keep it up.

y'all must be lovin this. as of right now, ~9000 brushes, 95% done, takes like 5 minutes to compile all the lighting you see. problem is, apparently I made it too big and detailed, so the VIS stage doesn't work. Now this means that the level does still work, lighting and all, but the problem is that the VIS doesnt work and as such the engine wont optimize it. Fortunately this level is short.

Make a copy of the level and delete parts until VIS works. Then use process of elimination to find out what VIS doesn't like and fix it so it works.

Also that is nice.

Like I said before, you don't need to do -VIS if your computer is decent. Do -VIS in the final compile.

I know. I'm not doing -vis. However, it not working at all will pose a problem when I do do the final compile, so I'm trying to fix it eventually. It's not a real concern yet.
