... but at least my railgun design is a bit more realistic according to the sg1 universe

I've already added it ingame and so far it doesnt look as good as milkshape, jk limits, go figure.


Technical info:
On fully automatic, it fires 3.8mm rounds at 780 m/s (mach 3 ish) at a rate of 1500 rounds per minute.
A cylinder clip containing 500 rounds fits at the back. However, each round is only a 3.8mm silicon/iron point. It has no explosive cartridge.

The bullets are fired using a 12kJ rail accelerator. The huge energy required comes from a cell of liquid naquadaa (pic 5) in the fore of the gun.
After firing continuously for over 3 seconds the barrel's temperature ceases to remain superconducting, and naquadaa coil temperature exceeds safe levels, the grip will open to reveal the powersource and allow cool air to lower the temperature inside the gun (4 seconds is usually enough).
This can also be done manually.

On semi automatic, the function of the gun changes somewhat.
Energy is charged up through gallium nitride crystals, and releases 30 kJ into the emf accelerator, firing 3 rounds in a row (such as metal storm technology)
Here, the velocity of the projectiles exceed 2000 m/s (erm, really f***ing fast). This releases a muzzle flash of plasma and the 3 rounds fired usually vapourize within a second.

Due to intense speed however,a round usually reaches its target in a fraction of that time, and channels its kinetic and thermal energy into both penetrating and annihilating the target.

The trajectory of the weapon is controlled by a computer aimed barrel. high tension pistons allign the barrel towards a target (recognised my the computer camera) using laser aimers, static, and moveable.

Some FN-2000 P90 hybrid thingy, since the receiver and sight reminds me more of a p90...ehh who cares besides my lame *** :XD:

It just looks awesomeness even tho the barrel doesn't seem to actually be attached to the gun.

well technically is isnt watts/power when i fail to mention the time frame involved. Gallium Nitride crystals cant hold significant charge/energy either...

Layers of meta-stable Gold silicate on the otherhand....

Looks good, but it needs more green diodes on the readout thingy. How about a little animated icon that shows exactly what the gun is doing as it happens? How about a little animated icon that shows you holding the gun and doing stuff with it?

The way i see it, it does look like the P-90. look at the barrel, grip, stock etc. Of course the scope area and under-barrel-slung gear looks like something off the battle rifle from Halo. I like the over all design though. Awesome.

i really wish i could upload a fraps ingame video but this computer only manages a frate of 2/sec.

Excuse the lack of pixel blending my card is crap.
But yeah the gun works brilliantly.
Gonna leave it for now and work on adding loads more weapons (mp5k, wraith stunner, zat effects etc)

the gun looks awesome, not gonna lie... but is seems strange place for the power cell to come from, sliding down from where the user grips the barrel, when I first read the description, I though the round bulge would pop out and that'd be the cooling unit, or something on the side... just seems like a weird place to put it if in the middle of firing it pops out and makes your aim go off.

of course, if it's popping out on you you ain't firing and therefore who cares...

awesome looking gun.
