I'm working on some art for my Scars on Broadway cover band 'Cars on Boardwalk'

Here are the first sketches, as well as a simple colored version I whipped up after. I'm going to properly ink and color the image on photoshop later tonight, but for now here are some scratch pictures. I'm going for a old school feel. Almost a kind of tattoo 50's sailor theme. It's also loosely based on the Scars on Broadway album art.

The color is just to establish a color scheme. The whole thing is getting re-drawn on a tablet and colored professionally. I just wanted to establish a color scheme.

Think while it's still legal.

The original drawing had some nice contrast which helped pull out details. The color made everything duller.

the original looked like a ****ty tattoo. the coloured version looked ****tier.

I think you should stick with the black and white. Honestly, it looks really good.

It doesn't look like it'd hold a color scheme well.
