I'm sure you've all noticed that i've been asking on how to make a side scrolling camera. Well here is why.





And yes i know that it looks VERY 2D. Thats the beauty of it though. Hehe. Im planning on remaking all the levels, 1-1 through 8-4.

My only question for you guys is, would you like to see each level seperate, I.E 1-1, 1-2 etc, or see all levels set in the world. I.E 1-1 + 1-2 = World 1. Thats my only question. Hope you enjoy this retro classic hehe.

Pretty cool, though the perspective/angle is really throwing me off in the pics. It seems like you can see the bottom of one of the "?" blocks, and yet the side of one of the others.

Other than that it sounds like a pretty cool concept, just let us be kyle and slash the goombas with our sabers or use force jump on them.

This is actually pretty awesome and I might reinstall JK to mess with it

You should talk with Shred about his Sonic mod. I remember Grismath having some (unrefined) sidescrolling stuff in his mod.

You should make a pipe 3do instead of blocking pipes. That would complete the package.

But yeah, if you can hide the 3-D a little bit more (mostly on the sides of the field of vision) I think you'll have something there.

Well im glad ya'll approve so far. I aim to please. The Pipe 3do is a good idea, as for the perspective issue, thats the problem of converting 2d to 3d. and vice versa. Im working on it lol. This is a test so far, but im glad to see some interest. As for Kyle slashing goombas, that would work, if i can get a goomba model. I was just gonna use stormies and such lol. Either way, i wonder if kyle, or stormies for that matter, can fight in 2d. Lol.

Oh, a solution to the field of vision. Make it the sky color perhaps? whats your opinion. And Geb, your idea is to have it so 1-1 to 1-4 as world 1. might work. Otherwise it would be 32 levels lol.

ECHOMAN's right: my sidescrolling was quite unrefined. I thought of using explode-on-contact Gonk bots as enemies for a SW-themed sidescroller .

I controlled movement with Playeraction(), which is a verb exclusive to MotS. Despite Playeraction()'s greater potential and simplification of a control system, it's pretty pointless to edit MotS nowadays since so few people have access to it. I'm sure you could get a lot of good ideas from Shred's Sonic level. It's really neat!

This looks excellent. If I could help in any way, I would, but I haven't tinkered with the JK editing for like 5 years, so its moral support for me!

Well progress is slow. Real life caught up to me for a week or so lol and i had to help a friend move. But now i should be making some progress. However if i really wanted to i could bang out a level a day. . . for the next month. Anywho, any suggestions other then those listed above let me know.
