If I were to make a video like this and actually try to do a decent job I would, first use music from the game or star wars music in general. I would also use video clips.

While I share pretty much the same sentiments for the video, I thought Area21 was a good level of choice. I also thought Purgatory and Baron's Hed RPG were fun back in the day--almost makes me want to re-install JK for nostalgic purposes.

Back in the JK era, to draw to the screen with DirectX you usually had two surfaces, a primary and a secondary. The primary would be shown to the user, while the secondary was hidden. To draw a new frame, you'd draw it to the secondary surface... and then swap them to show the frame. This would prevent the user from seeing an incomplete frame.

Double Buffering is still used today. :eng101:

Yes well today computers are a LITTLE bit faster so they usually fill the secondary surface with black so there's no HOM problems. Also no rendering limits anymore.

Edward, got any more recommendations from modarchive.org? Something with a catchy upbeat anthemic tune like the one you used for the video would be nice.

Can't really say. You could do some searching for popular and classic names from games or something. There is Jarre, Gldier Rider, Bubble Bobble, Axel F, Flimbo's Quest, and the list goes on. Then again, you could start from the top: Browse by Alphabet. ;)

Eh, no, most games just render properly. You know. Like JK does. Unless you, the level maker, **** up.

As I recall, not clearing the buffer is used to fill in the seams of the level geometry that result from single precision float errors.

Where are Tee's and MaDa's levels? And what about Piggott's awesome MotS single player campaign levels (Tales of a Mercenary IIRC)?
