..and so I install JK, download Zed and get started.

It's supposed to be some kind of imperial spacecraft, I didn't have any specific design, I just did what looked interesting :P.

I like the lighting :D
2008-10-22, 8:43 PM #6
Yeah, the lighting adds alot to the pictures. It does help take away the blandness of the early shots.

You can use the default textures if you make sure you don't cut off a texture detail that is obviously not made to be on an edge. Stitch it so the seems make sense (you did this well in several places, like the stairs and floor tiles).

The lighting on the ceiling is very strange, do you know how to fix that?
2008-10-26, 3:37 AM #19
Experiment with cutting up the ceiling's surfaces. JK does vertex lighting, so if there are only few vertices the light can reach, it might look funny. Read up on some tutorials: http://www.massassi.net/tutorials/advanced_lighting_1/

Good stuff - considering you had not done it for a while...
Nice to see someone making the most of the original JK textures too.

Who said JK is dead? Its still fun to play around with ZED - you're doing something in 3D :).
