So I spent the last 6 hours in photoshop doing that all by hand, but I know it's not right. Slaughter it, tell me what's wrong (that you see) so I can go about fixing it better, please.

Sprites typically don't. Unfortunately, what you can and can't include in a 32x64 sprite is more limited than you'd think.
