So, I consider myself a crap singer, but over the past year I've been working more and more towards improving that, and so far, it's going- alright.

Anyway, here are two separate clips of me singing Mad World- They are both a bit different, and I'd appreciate any feedback on how you think I can improve my voice for those of you that sing.

The first one sounds okay, but your voice is kind of buried in the mix. Are you singing along with the recording?

The second recording isn't very good. You're holding notes over into chords they don't belong to or something. I'll listen again as soon as the baseball game ends.

I've been singing pretty much my entire life and I consider myself to be a good singer. I can tell you that your voice definitely has a ton of potential because it's natural and it doesn't sound like you're trying to force something that shouldn't be. With that said, I'd say if you took some voice lessons you could have a very nice voice. I tried hard not to be biased because I really like that song, although I guess that's a compliment to you then because if you had butchered it I would have been angry.

Nice job, I'd like to hear more as you progress.

[Edit] Wanted to add that in the second clip you sounded more confident, and thus it was definitely easier on the ears. You can tell when someone is unsure of themselves by the pitchy vibration in their voice. You had a little bit of that going on in the first clip.

Actually, I changed my mind. The problem with the second one is your time.
