Just wasting some time with JK again. Here I show off a pistol, an extremely crappy hand texture, and custom crosshair. The muzzle flash is a placeholder.

Product of boredom #2. A very sexy rifle. Texturing it probably wont be.

Any comments, tips?

PS: if you remember my old stuff, it's lost in some computer related mayhem and forgetting to backup.

Thanks guys

I suck at texturing. Here's the beginning of that for the rifle:

No offense but it looked better untextured. It lost a lot of detail on the model post-textures. I would advise a darker wood color, and to add some variation in the textures so they're not as solid. However, keep at it and you can have a really nice gun there.

Great models! I agree about the textures on the rifle, though.

bake some AO on the gun skin

There's nothing wrong with the rifle textures.

Discontent with things like that are why most JK projects were never completed. It's not about making each piece magnificent, it's about actually finishing each piece, not necessarily in a perfect manner, to make a magnificent completed mod.

Keep going!! make some land mines or something, a machine gun, and a knife and you'll have a nice little mod. ^_^

Did just that and now there's some nice contrast. The highlights are done manually and they just don't look good enough... good enough for JK though.. hehe.

Reminds me of the NOLF series, which is a good thing.

Thanks. Worked on the wood, and made some rudimentary animations. It currently shoots prisms of DFLT.mat, temporarily in place of bullets.

Who wants to guess what rifle it's based on?

tried looking at reference photos for the k98? try making modifying your textures to mimic reference photos of that rifle.

I believe it's an english WWI era rifle
2009-09-14, 1:12 AM #18
It's the British Lee-Enfield 4 MK. I, chambered in .303 caliber i believe.

Looks like the M1 Garand. Maybe its the M1A1 Carbine. But it lacks the A1's clip so Im guessing Garand.

Huh? The M1 Garand doesn't look a thing like that.

And the wood is STILL too bright. It's also much too orange.

True sorry. My mistake. At first glance it looks like the M1. My bad.

I saw bolt action + rifle and my mind went to the K98. =(

Yep, it's mostly based on the Enfield No. 4.

I removed some color saturation on the wood and added a couple missing metal details. It's pretty much complete, except for muzzle flash and bullet model, which are easy.
