Beta Test My Contest Entry!
2009-12-31, 4:36 PM #1
So I've uploaded a beta version of my contest entry and would like for anyone whole wants to go ahead and run through and tell me what problems you might have or things I need to fix.

Things I'm already aware of are:
-Translucent Crystal 3do's cause some minor HOM.
-A few 3do's flicker because they are in mulitple sectors.

And I also want to note that Im still working on the new menus. Those ones are not final lol.

Here is the download link:

I'm getting an 'unable to open file [Japanese garbage]. It may be missing, already in use, or corrupted' error.

on what.. the zip?

No, by following the instructions and extracting the files to the MotS folder and running the bat file. Also tried just adding the -path tdtc1t switch to my shortcut and it didn't work (same error). May be something on my end though. I was able to load the level with the JKLauncher. Very nicely done.

idk.. i dont get the error... it should work fine though just sticking the .goo in the episode folder

But didn't you have a reason for us running it as a mod?

Extracts and works fine for me.

Great stuff. I was about to mention the 3DO flickering but you already knew of that... and I thought the crystals look awesome with the slight HOM effect in there :|

Got it to work, add -windowgui to the batch file.
I like the level, it looks good, plays well. Hell it looks like it could have been a JO level.
But man, this voice acting is bad, it's mumbly and distorted and I'm pretty sure it's just one person.

yeah.. its just me doing the voice acting lol
none of my mic's work.. so i had to use my phone :/ lol
i dont suppose i can get a few voice actors in 1 day eh? It's 5 actors and not that many lines.

oh yeah.. and is there anyway i can fix the flickering 3do's? i tried using a cog to destroy and recreate it on a pulse.. but that didnt work.. think im just going to leave it.. its not that big of a glitch.

On the 3do's with HOM, turn off the World Architecture flag. Send me a PM with some of the lines, and I'll send you back the wav files. The flicker cog should take care of the flickering. I can't say that I remember any 3do's flickering though...

I like the level design.
I counted only one flickering 3d0 which was the suports arond the elivator.
I greatly look forward to playing this when it comes out.
but one thing....
Wheres the ending, I wanted to fight the Dark Jedi.

You 'fight' him at the end of level 2.. but im afraid that will be short lived.. i promise the ending will pwn though :P
And I plan to have a Chapter 2 and 3... and you will most def. fight him full on at the end of Chapter 3.

Ok, so its a multi part story.
Can't wait to see parts 2&3

yep.. and what you played was level 1 of part 1.. the final version of part one will be 2 levels.. that would explain your lack of an ending :P
