Jedi Knight: Worlds at War

Hey guys, long time posting for this.
If you remember my Call of Jedi project, please take note it has been changed to Jedi Knight: Worlds at War.
Taking aspects from the PS3 Games Call of Duty and SOCOM Confrontation, this level set will include urban and rural settings, new weapons, and new games modes.
Jedi Knight - Invasion will be making an appearance as the new Invasion/Domination mode.
Enjoy the new eye candy featuring the grass models.

To be completely honest I think you're wasting your time making new game modes and TC-like things for such an old game. There simply are not enough people around to enjoy them.

I'm still working with JK because I want to finish that one last thing but after that... not worth it.

I mean, I'm not stopping you, I just don't see the point. :/

There might not be alot of people that play it, but I kow those who do will appreciate this.
And why not, after all the recent map pack was FULL of JK and MOTS levels and ideas.
That and personally, until i get more comfortable with Radiant, I will keep modding JK.

No. No. Do not attempt to learn Radiant. You will be doing yourself a disservice. The game is too old at this point. You should learn Hammer instead, because that's actually current. Plus, you can do a lot more with Source. There are so many limitations and quirky little annoyances with JO/JA that you will just be incredibly frustrated.
DO NOT WANT.

Thanks for the heads up Zell, though I want to learn radiat for 1 reason. I'm Making the Gundam Project multi port.
I want it to be a JK mod AND a JO MOD.
Silly i know lol.

Just so you know, no one plays JO anymore, so that might be a waste of time. Hell, no one plays JA anymore, and all the efforts I've made to remake portions of JK may be falling on deaf ears. Don't make my mistake.
DO NOT WANT.

actually zell when i released Jedi Knight: Invasion, there was a lot of buzz on the JKHUB Launcher about hosting MP games with it.
Granted that enthusiasim might die off, but while it lasts, I want to give my loyal fans something new lol.
And if anything i'll do it for myself ya know?
Even if i can get one or 2 players to go at it, then my work is done lol.

100 people isn't even "a lot of buzz."

But I have no idea why anyone would discourage you. Have fun!

Good god no.

Source is far from current. It's still being used by Valve and many modders, sure, but it's so outdated visually it's extremely annoying to look at. Everything created with it just screams "SOURCE" at your face.

If you want to learn something current, go with the UDK/Unreal engine. Although most developers don't dare move away from the Gears of War artistic style/bloom, the engine can be used to create vastly different games (look at Mirrors Edge). Plus, if you end up making anything huge, you can actually sell it. ;)

Annyway, looks really cool Zero_Raven.

Meh. I like the look of source.

Interior of building pending, but here are two shots from the interior mind you its WIP. In the first shot off in the distance you can see a completly sectored building.

Mind you EVERYTHING in this building, even the building itself, is 3DO. One, BIG, 3DO.

External shot of the "house" now that I have it meshed out lol.
Removed window frames for time being. I know about the DFLT on the edge of the roof.

you should throw a little framing on the side of that house to break up the monotony of the textures
2010-01-24, 3:21 PM #21

he's just offering a suggestion.
[01:52] <~Nikumubeki> Because it's MBEGGAR BEGS LIKE A BEGONI.
2010-01-24, 3:52 PM #23
Heres my suggestion, don't build that entire house out of a 3do. And instead of posting a screen shot every time you change something, why don't you actually spend more than an hour working on it before you show us. So it's a little more complete looking.

MB i know he is just suggesting, id thought about external and internal suport beams. any other suggestions ARE appreciated.

Zan, that building alone has taken me almost 7 hours thus far. The only reason i posted that external was to show how it looks form the outside lol.

No offense, but if it took you 7 hours to build that your not doing something right.

Zan, I have no reference material, Im adding and deleting walls as i go. I dunno how long it would take for YOU too make a house in ZED, but as i said, 1, no references, 2, no set interior or exterior design plans.
and that 7 is also including the time it took to resolve the issues such as Z-Fighting etc.
But so much for constructive criticism.

See I wouldn't use ZED to build a 3do which would help eliminate lots of time

I think you should focus on SP since nobody plays MP, atleast not nearly enough to really make it fun, anymore.
2010-02-02, 11:49 AM #30
Even SP doesn't get much attention now. I think this is a very ambitious mod and I can't see it being finished in all honesty. Having said that - the authors vision sounds very fun.

Well we shall see. There is some slow progression, mixing in with other projects including a MP release for MOTS called Rivage.
We shall see, thanks for saying it is ambitious lol.

use Unreal and make a house in less than 5 minutes, complete with rooms and stairs!
