So you made... new electronics for a reflow oven? What's different?
Bassoon, n. A brazen instrument into which a fool blows out his brains.

features:
- Individual control of four heating elements (2 top, 2 bottom)
- Oven bay thermocouple (measure up to 1000° F)
- Oven bay cooling fan
- Temperature sensor on motherboard
- Circuit bay cooling fan
- Computer serial port connection
- Dedicated non-volatile EEPROM for storing target reflow profiles or recording actual reflow profile
- Three microcontrollers run in parallel for simultaneous sound playback, animated graphics, maintain reflow cycle, record to EEPROM or stream data to host PC, and menu navigation
- 128x64 graphical LCD
- Four input buttons
- Sound output
- Internal 120vac -> 5vdc switching power supply
- Master on/off power switch

mostly just for fun and learned a lot in teh process. the reflow oven motherboard was my first surface mount PCB to begin with. i painstakingly soldered it using a heatblower tip on a butane torch... now that I have an Aoyue hotair rework station i might honestly never use the oven anyway :)

**** yeah dude

I am going to do the exact same thing in a few months. I got a 9 cubic foot kiln for free on craigslist, but the electronics are shot to hell so I'm going to build a new set when I get back to my hobbies in the spring.

And I thought my attempt at merging a NES/SNES/N64 into one machine was hard. (It wasn't, just time consuming, which is why it isn't complete....)
