just a fun idea i am kicking around... if i can ever get JK to work on my computer i want to try and make this.

heres a real quick sketch.

Haha, that's cool. Might make a good JK Arena level. Or maybe something much larger, taking you to different areas, like Area 21.

Area 21 was so cool, but I always felt sad playing it because it was so empty, in a way. A lot of JK levels made me feel sad because they were so desolate. Weird!

Lol, you can't really tell in the sketch but the news stand had it's rolldown doors mostly shut and a small closed sign.

Well, I can install and launch jk alright. I can navigate around the various menus. However , as soon as I actually start a level the screen goes black. I can still hear the background music and if I move I can hear footsteps, just can't see at all.

I can't seem to locate a dedicated server client, I can't seem to find a command to change to custom maps via the console & every time I hit someone w/ my light-saber they grunt but they never die (I think everyone may be cheating).

do you have 3d enabled?

have you tried lowering the resolution

do you have the latest gfx drivers installed?

That sounds like port forwarding issues, have you tried opening your ports?

I had that problem, lots of people do. Most of the time you can fix it with the 3d acceleration fix. Check out this thread for the info: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=975224
