No, what I've done is based off of Shred's work made a Sonic the Hedgehog game on the Jedi Knight Engine. If anyone is interested in such things, then Check out the Beta release.

Same idea, different engine. I think this one is based on Doom (Build?) engine and it works out pretty well

I'm afraid there haven't been much update on the project. I did add some more plants and fixed a little on the controls, but seeing as no body has done any models, it is still the same two levels.
