Greetings intrepid questers!
In preparation for my LAN party on 12/26, I'm planning on releasing Beta 2 of Rites of Xanthus Multiplayer, a MotS co-op RPG inspired by the Dungeons and Dragons arcade games.
Please respond to this thread if you'd be available at 11 AM EST tomorrow, Friday, for a beta test! Ideally, we'll get three additional players for a game of four.
FGR, Admiral Zarn, and I played Beta 1 last week and had a good time.
Screenshots don't really do it justice, since most of the work has gone into gameplay-enhancing COGs:

Screenshots don't really do it justice, since most of the work has gone into gameplay-enhancing COGs:
- Classes:
- Brute: wields a battle-axe and soaks up damage, a one-man superweapon
- Thief: takes out enemies from afar with her bow, or up close with a dagger; can go invisible and performs critical strikes if undetected
- Cleric: can heal himself or others; can send re-animated enemies back to the underworld en masse
- Mage: has a library of offensive/defensive spells like the ability to disintegrate enemies' weapons and teleport
- Day/night
- Team sleep: at night, the team must get some rest to transition to the next day
- Respawn on team: if you're killed during the course of your quest, you can respawn back with your party
- Boss battles: there's a bunch of AI synced baddies... I don't want to spoil the surprises, but some features include multiple types of attack, and enemies that transform/use different attacks during the course of the battle
- Five diverse areas: your quest will take you through the countryside, over land and sea, and into the depths of the earth
