Not Diablo 3, that's a pile of horse crap. I mean the classic, Diablo 1.

Well, I loved it so much I decided to remake it (a tribute, at any rate) for Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

Ha, I read that as "Spaniards from Hell". Anyway, it certain looks snappy and quite this-is-not-JKs-Nar-Shaddaa-level-1-remake-for-JA-mungous.

Saw this on my phone last night and got excited, had to wait to log in this morning.

I really dig the whole concept and idea, and I wonder how the gameplay is going to work. Everything but the church looks good. Amnesia already looks impressive with its stonework, so I imagine you could really improve the castle's architecture. Else, I think a little more liberty with lights lanterns and torches would improve the town's appeal and take away from the stark contrast there currently is.

Do you mean the exterior or the interior of the cathedral? Because those are made using completely different methods; the exterior is a single model, made for me by a team member, and the interior is made using lots of the same stone wall prefabs that Amnesia had.

That explains it, because my problem is entirely with the exterior. Sorry to the community member, but it just doesn't fit the rest of your aesthetics.

Fair enough. That part isn't entirely under my control, but I gave him this image to use as a reference. As time goes on, maybe he'll redo the model, but as it is, there are far more models that need to be made.

Very nice, though I agree with JediKirby 100% about the cathedral's exterior not being on par with the rest of the images (and also about adding more "life" to the village itself). I think it's the lightning that needs works the most, though some snappier archi, a couple of trees, and better textures wouldn't hurt as well. Check out this for reference:

Mmmm, nah. I like the atmosphere of diablo 1 more. Diablo 2 is way too expansive of a game to include references to in this- it would feel forced.

The texture alignment on the church needs work. Looks good to me otherwise though

The church has since been remodeled to closer suit Diablo 1's cathedral.

Kitty's got claws! I'm currently undergoing legal issues with moderators on the Frictional forums, saying they don't want to host it if it has material (the music and sounds) from Diablo 1. One moderator said he had no problem with it, and just now I heard from a different one who said he refuses to host it unless I get permission from blizzard, so I sent them an email asking for permission.

Seems silly to me, seeing as Diablo 1 came out in 1996, and the team that made it has disbanded since 2005. Plus, this is non-profit.

Well, you could release it on ModDB. They sure have no problem hosting one of the most popular SW mods of all time, Movie Battles II which is chock full of resources (music, sounds, etc.) from so many other SW games (i.e. the sounds for the 7 Dark Jedi come from, wait for it, Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II).

After all, LEC - having a history of being unfriendly to mods - possibly can't have missed one of such popularity.
