What kind of levels do you guys have planned for jk2?

I thought I'd start this thread as I'm interested to know what types of levels you guys are planning to do for JO.

I know theres been a lot of stuff about how hard making SP levels will be, so I was wondering if most people will be making MP levels?

I'll be sticking with SP. Currently I've got my Tantive IV level I started in RtcW, and I might see about converting DS over with droids plugin.

I think I create a Death Star level.
2002-04-01, 2:31 AM #3

Class based mod. Each will get their Gun and 20 rounds of ammo. 6 Levels will be included.

Streets of Mars
City on Gunsmoke (Can't remember the name)
Misc Eat-Man level

Well I can probably see the usual types of levels appear soon, popular SW locations , industrial thingies, the usual.

I hope you're joking.. that level was horrible.

As for me, well, I have 9-10 ideas floating around, but I'll probably settle on 2-3 singleplayer campaigns. Don't really want to talk about it much, but in the coming months there will be much news :P

Stargate, Western, My house, nuclear powerplant, town, random level with traps, inside the human body...

I dunno, Jipe, I kinda enjoyed Purgatory. It easily wasn't the best for MP play, but it was kinda interesting to see the way they portrayed all that stuff, and there were plenty of little things to explore and try out.

Who said I was recreating it? I plan to improve it for Sabers. I'm not into radiant, so I'll have to wait until some other editor adds support.

Who ever played the "Tower" level for MOTS? The one where there was a giant tower in the center that can set off traps around the level. I think that would be a great level for JK2
2002-04-02, 2:49 AM #14
I was thinking of a multiplayer level with stuff in it that you can manipulate with the force, like in the Yavin training temple. . . 'cept multiplayer [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

I'm glad to see that there are a few people planning SP levels. It should be interesting to see how everyones projects develop. I should expect that everything will be much much better, architecturally, than JK [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

I suggest to learn Radiant, ist easy and i don´t think that any other Editors will support JKII

I repeat this project here to see if expert editors think it is only a dream..

Imagine this mp mod: you can choose to join Imperials or Rebels at the start of the game (do you know counterstrike?): you start with less powerful weapons at the beginning but fragging enemies you get point to buy weapons with increasing power. In the enemy base there are different keys):if you get them you can go in a hangar in the map and open a door that leads to an atat that now is yours!.Another key taken in a more defended place and you can go to open a new door in the hangar and get a tie fighter and so on..Fragging enemies you can get points so even the people without atats or tie fighter in any case can get weapons that can
damage badly atst and tie fighters (f.i. anti air like "rebelstingers")and in this way the game can be balanced. Imagine this in a map called tattooine desert 8vs8!
Like in t.f.c. and RTWC we can think to specialize in specific tasks: tie fighter-X_wing pilot, atat pilot,
assault stormtrooper,Jedi-Sith Rebel-Imperial Saber-force-Master, Officer (that is the only one that can use a radar map looking like jk force seeing to spot the enemies and give orders from an inbase control room with cameras and buttons of traps too) and so on.

I'm planning a SP continuation of JK2 where Kyle has to infiltrate imperial strongholds and mop up the rest of the Shadow Troopers and Reborn that survived the game. First up is a secret Imperial Tie fighter base in an asteroid. I need to figure out some story behind it but the architecture should be pretty cool. And I had the base in an asteroid idea before the game come out. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

ARRRR! I know this will be plagiarised, but what the hey:

Pale / Urban Blindness / The Hidden

Horror SP level/campaign: A group of Stromtroopers/Imperial Elite Commandos are inserted deep into the under decaying levels of Coruscant. A vital power coupling station seems to be failing, halting the spread of electricity and water.

The troop escorts a squad of engineers, but yet they are constantly watched from the shadows, by unseen eyes, hordes of trologdytes, teeming masses of rejects of society. Hunchbacked brittle-boned palefaced creatures are omnipresent. Could they be behind the loss of contact with the Station?

Cue:

An introduction with briefing on a looooong ride down into darkness.

Much Rust.

Stunning vertigo inducing upwards views of kilometer high steel (or the SW equivalent) canyons with far above bridges and twirling traffic.

Loss of daylight.

Freakish blank eyed creatures.

Twisty turny plot.

Plenty of ambient clankety clank resonations and distant whirring, creaking etc.

See the remains of the surface of Coruscant!

Possibly new blaster weapons. At least increased projectile speed, damage.

Most probably a "slugthrower" weapon to be found.

Possibly a new melee weapon (like a rusted lead pipe or something. Maybe some kind of vibro-blade bayonet?)

Possibly reloading clips every 50 or so shots (and the ability to tweak it to overpower).

And plenty of H0RR4R!!! PH34R!

Brought to you by the wannabe one-man team of Daeron the Nerfherder's - Penguin Productions!

Tentative release date: NEVAARRRR! (when it's done/When I give up/When people bug me into releasing the buggy glitchy mess)

Watchoo people think? Should I maybe give it a go? Far too ambitious? Stooopid? Cheesy?
If it breaks, you get to keep both pieces.

I'll do some single player stuff. Not sure what...

For those of you that remember IRG Palace from Jedi Knight, I will be bringing it to Jedi Outcast with many improvements.
2002-04-02, 2:38 PM #23
I have two mod ideas:
1. I, Jedi TC, with force power changes (no Telekinesis, of course, except with absorption), use of close combat with thing besides lightsaber (punch, kick, smack with hilt, etc.), and levels and cinematics yoinked from the book. Very nice, having the story already there...

2. Generic mod, name undecided, filled with wackiness. Force Balloon is a good example. Imagine inflating a stormtrooper so that you see a big white sphere with little arms and legs and a head sticking out, which you can then either spring a leak in with a blaster or pop with your saber. Oh, and Force Nausea, which will induce vomiting in selected targets. Don't forget Force Ludicrous, which will make you spin like a helicopter with your lightsaber fanning out...
2002-04-02, 2:58 PM #24
I'm planning to make CO for it (That is if CO isn't already on the game), but that'll be just to get used to the editor, but If it's really good, I might release it. Now if I could only get my comp upgraded so I can run JO.

Episode 4 mod

A series of levels following the story of the first movie released. Im also planning on modding some of the other films. And if i prove successful, Im going to make a "fun" map where you join a Rebel army in assaulting an imperial base. (kid of like D-day map in Allied assault, Starwars style)

I plan on making a huge epic Single Player level set on the same volcanic planet that ToaM1 is set on... although that's a little bit too ambitious for a novice at Radiant, so it would be something to consider later on down the line.

I want to do some outdoorsy type levels.. Yes, i know they're the most difficult, but ah well.
2002-04-03, 2:36 PM #29
It's gonna be MP for me for a start. I want to recreate some of the locations from the films ('how original' I hear you say), but ever since acting out the final scene from EP1 (Jinn + Kenobi vs. Maul) on the Zone, RPG JK has appealed to me. I haven't used Radiant for some time though, so to recap I might just create a simple FFA map of my own design.
2002-04-03, 3:09 PM #30
Let's see:

I primarily wanna do modeling. Once I learn how to model and make some practice stuff, I first wanna create a Boba Fett model. Then a Clone Trooper model. After that, I should have enough practice to tackle Darth Vader himself.

As for level's, I really wanna do a new CTF level. There are two teams:Heaven and Hell. To get to Heaven/Hell, you have to get through purgatory.
2002-04-03, 3:38 PM #31
By the time I start really getting into JO editing, I'll be quite tired out from my Dark Revival project, so I'll probably do something from the original trilogy....like, Yavin or something.

I plan on making a new version of "Escape from mera Himbgie" for JO as well as continue with the "Tides of the force" series. for multiplayer I would like to make a new version of laser Tag CTF (but much better).

A sequel (or rather, a "reimagining", except not crap like Planet of the Apes... damn them... damn them all to hell...) to my one completed level. I call it "Harjassk Supremacy" and I have no idea what's going to happen in it.

Besides taking the mickey out of everything Ant does, that is (What's that, you entered a room? Cutscene! Pressed a button? Cutscene! Moved? Cutscene! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/biggrin.gif]).

I'm starting out simple with an MP level. None other than Starbase Training 2. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

After that, I would love to do some SP or be involved in a mod of some sort.

JI OASISS!!!11

I'll probably make about 12 test levels that are nothing, then whine about how I have no ideas, then I'll make some crappy MP level and, in a rage of self-hatred, either not release it, or delete it entirely.

Then I'll probably redo BGJ, except without horrid textures. I'm going to try to make it feel like the JK BGJ has been there for some time, and is aged/old/crumbling type thing.

I'll make some skins then maybe a few levels depending on how hard Radiant is to learn. I never made JK levels because I couldn't STAND JED :P

I made tons o skins though [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

The levels I want to make? Well I want to try and remake an episode I made in Doom a LONG time ago [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] That was a kick *** episode. I hope radiant is as easy to learn as WADED was [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

Speaking of which, does anyone know if Zy plans to port his Duel of the Fates Q3A map over to the good graces of Jedi Outcast?
